Food shuttle alerts schools, families to Velveeta cups recall

The Inter-Faith Food Shuttle in Raleigh is putting out an alert to families and schools following the nationwide recall of three types of Velveeta Shells & Cheese microwaveable cups.

 

All schools that operate Back Pack Buddies programs, which feed children on the weekends when free and reduced-price school meals aren't available, are being notified to keep the potentially hazardous kid-friendly food from being sent home with children.

Ground beef from Food Lion involved in recall

Packages of ground beef sold in Food Lion supermarkets in North Carolina are part of a recall announced today by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Check your freezers for Butcher's Beef Brand prepackaged 3-pound tubes of ground beef with a 73/27 lean-to-fat ratio.
