Friends & Family promo at Apricot Lane boutiques

If you're out and about shopping with friends at Raleigh's North Hills or Cary Town Center, it might be worth your while to stop in and check out Apricot Lane.

The stores, which bill themselves as affordable boutiques with celebrity inspired fashions, are offering a Friends & Family promotion right now.

Wednesday grocery deals, Feb. 6-12

Each of the Triangle's grocery stores has its share of excellent deals this week.

Harris Teeter has free Smart Balance Spread and South Beach Diet bars, along with great deals on organic yogurts, Earthbound Farm organic salad, Jolly Time popcorn, Johnsonville Chicken Sausage, Steamfresh veggies and Sea Pak frozen seafood.
You can also pick up milk for $2.97 per gallon, a very nice deal.

Lowes Foods has a gift card promotion that rewards you with a $5 discount off your next shopping order and a nice deal on Hallmark greeting cards. You'll also find good deals on strawberries, Duncan Hines Red Velvet cake mix for just 25 cents, split chicken breasts for 99 cents per pound and Eggland's Best eggs for $1.30 per dozen.
The Fresh Rewards E-Offer is especially good this week: $2.99 after coupon for 12 rolls of Scott's Extra Soft toilet paper.

Food Lion also has a gift card promotion running this week, giving you a $10 discount on $50 in gift cards. You must purchase an additional $10 in groceries to get the deal but a 20 percent discount on gift cards is a very generous offer.
Food Lion has also got good prices on cantaloupe, spiral sliced ham and bone-in chicken breasts.

At Aldi, you'll find some great prices on produce -- $1.29 for pineapple and cantaloupe, strawberries for $1.49 per pound and a five-pound bag of grapefruit for just $1.69.

Keep reading for a long list of this week's top deals at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Aldi -- with and without coupons.

Lowes Foods Super Doubles confirmed!

Super Doubles at Lowes Foods is a go for this week, starting Wednesday.

The grocery chain has confirmed the promotion on its Facebook page.

Even better, Lowes Foods will -- for the first time -- double coupons with a face value of $2 or less.

That means a $2 coupon will double to $4 off.

The move to include $2 coupons follows a similar decision made by rival Harris Teeter several months ago.

I'm already working on a list of freebies and good deals for you. I'll post it just as soon as possible.

Lowes Foods Super Doubles coupon policy:

1. You may double up to 20 manufacturer coupons with a face value of $2 or less per day. The doubled value may not exceed the retail cost of the item.

2. You may use no more than three identical coupons per order.

3. You must pay sales tax on full retail price.

4. Competitor coupons and store coupons will NOT be doubled.

5. Coupons that state "do not double" will not be doubled.

6. No rainchecks will be given on out-of-stock items.

Super Doubles rumored at Lowes Foods

Rumor has it that Lowes Foods will host a Super Double coupon event, starting this Wednesday, Jan. 23.

I'll let you know if and when the event is confirmed.

But in the meantime, you might want to start clipping and organizing those coupons.

New coupons = new deals at Harris Teeter Super Doubles

With more than 300 new coupons in today's N&O, there are plenty of new deals to score at Harris Teeter in the final days of its Super Double coupon event.

Below I've listed the deals I discovered, including six freebies and another 16 items you can score for under $1 through midnight Tuesday when the promotion ends.

My absolute favorite deal using today's new coupons? Finish dishwasher tablets are BOGO for $2.89 each. Use the $2.15 coupon and pay just 74 cents per box. If your store runs out, be sure to get a rain check because this deal works even without the Super Doubles promotion.

Score cheap gasoline at Kroger using holiday fuel promotion

Starting Sunday, Nov. 18, Kroger is offering its popular quadruple gasoline rewards promotion when you purchase gift cards.

Buy the gift cards as gifts, or to buy gifts, or to use in your daily shopping at the stores you regularly frequent.

When readers ask for my favorite ways to save money, this deal always ranks in my top five.

Here's how it works:

Super Doubles at Lowes Foods confirmed!

Update: The special coupon event at Lowes Foods has been confirmed on several couponing sites. It's a Super Doubles promo with coupons doubling up to $1.98 in face value.

I will start a list of freebies and good deals later today.

Just to let you know, there are rumors on the national coupon sites that Lowes Foods will offer a special coupon promotion starting Wednesday, Oct. 31.

At this point, it is unconfirmed. But, if true, the Lowes Foods event would compete with Harris Teeter's Super Doubles event, which has been confirmed for the week starting Wednesday. See my list of good deals HERE.

I'll keep you posted.
