Reader question: What's the cheapest place to develop disposable camera photos?

I got an email this morning with a question that has me stumped so I thought I would throw it out to all of you, my savvy shopping readers.

Missy wants to know of any bargains on photo development involving disposable cameras.

She sent her kids to camp with the disposables and now has four cameras full of photos. And my guess is she also has some eager, if not impatient, kids.

Are there any good deals out there? Please leave your advice in the comments section below.

Does Twitter get the picture with new services?

Well, Twitter has been busy lately.

On the heels of last week's announcement that the remaining people using "old Twitter" will be switched to "new Twitter," the social network has released some updates for all of its users.

The new features include a photo service baked into Twitter and some tweaks to the tabbed navigation for browser-based users.

Smartphones may soon auto tag your photos

Your smartphone may soon be able to automatically tag photos.

An app developed by students from Duke University and the University of South Carolina uses the various sensors on a mobile device and those of others in the vicinity to chose the tags. The software is being called TagSense, but should not be confused with the TagSense RFID app currently in the Android Market.

"In our system, when you take a picture with a phone, at the same time it senses the people and the context by gathering information from all the other phones in the area," explains Xuan Bao, a Ph.D. student in computer science at Duke.

Smartphones and other mobile devices commonly have multiple sensors including accelerometers and light sensors. Gyroscopes and barometers can even be found in some.

An accelerometer might indicate if a person is posing or in action during a photograph. A light sensor could detect cloudy or sunny skies. The mic might recognize a laugh.
