Buy a piece of art at Margaux's, help raise money for charity

Like many restaurant owners, Steve Horowitz switches out the artwork on the walls of Margaux's Restaurant in North Raleigh every few months.

It's a mutually-beneficial arrangement for the artist and the restaurant owner. Horowitz gets free artwork for his restaurant walls and gets to keep it new and interesting. The artist get a place to have their artwork seen and potentially purchased by diners. At Margaux's, all proceeds from any sales go directly to the artist.

In his 21 years of doing this, Horowitz has never had this happen: artist Cristina Cantwell-Holub (whose painting "Mona Geisha" is shown at left) is donating all proceeds from the sale of her artwork now on display at Margaux's to charity.

All sales in September will go to St. Jude Children's Hospital, in October to Wounded Warrior Project and in November to the Salvation Army.

Margaux's is hosting an chance to meet Holub from 5:30-9 p.m. Oct. 16. The restaurant is located at 8111 Creedmoor Rd, Suite 111, Raleigh, 919-846-9846.
