What to Watch on Wednesday: Go deep inside 'Raccoon Nation'

Nature: Raccoon Nation (8pm, UNC-TV) - A look at urban raccoons, which are commonplace in big cities like Toronto, New York and Chicago. Night-vision cameras and radio collars provide a glimpse of the raccoon lifestyle, and there's also a look at the damage the critters have done in Japan, where they were imported as pets during the 1970s. Includes comments from a biologist who believes city life is making raccoons even smarter (they will rule us one day!). I know they can be destructive, but man, how adorable are they???

Person to Person (8pm, CBS) - In this revival of CBS's iconic primetime interview show, Charlie Rose and Lara Logan, both of the new "CBS This Morning" (which is very good, by the way), interview newsmakers in their homes and workplaces. Need help identifying a plant? If you have a smartphone, the app Leafsnap can help by analyzing a photo of a leaf from the mystery vegetation.

The word on this app is spreading like weeds. It is currently available for the iPhone, but developers will ...branch out with Android and iPad versions. It is focused on plants mostly native to the Northeastern U.S., but hopefully they can grow that quickly.

What to Watch on Sunday: A big night for cable dramas

The Kennedys (8pm, Reelz) - This controversial mini-series about the Kennedy clan begins tonight. We didn't get an advance copy to view and we've only heard horrible things about it, which is a shame considering the cast: Tom Wilkinson, Greg Kinnear, Barry Pepper, and Katie Holmes.

Academy of Country Music Awards (8pm, CBS) - Seriously. How many country music awards shows are there every year? Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton host this one from Las Vegas. Miranda Lambert leads nominations with seven. Scheduled to perform: Lambert, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Toby Keith.

Nature (8pm, UNC-TV) - "Outback Pelicans" looks at Australia's nomadic pelicans, which travel over 1000 miles inland to feast on fish and brine shrimp that appear in the usually dry Lake Eyre (which is the size of Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico combined) whenever it floods.

The Killing (9pm, AMC) - AMC's newest series is an adaptation of a wildly popular Danish TV crime drama, intertwining three perspectives of a murder in Seattle. In tonight's two-hour opener, Detective Sarah Linden's last day on the job is interrupted by the murder investigation of a 17-year-old girl who was supposed to be spending the weekend with a friend. Linden is played by Mireille Enos ('Big Love'). Billy Campbell ('Once and Again') also stars. Check out our review.

The Borgias (9pm, Showtime) - The premiere of a new 10-part drama about the infamous Renaissance-era Italian family headed by Rodrigo Borgias (Jeremy Irons) who schemes his way into being elected Pope Alexander VI.

Mildred Pierce (9pm, HBO) - In part three of five, Mildred (Kate Winslet) opens her restaurant despite suffering a great personal loss. Thanks to Ida and Lucy, her business becomes the talk of the town. Mildred also grows impatient with boyfriend Monty's spoiling of young Veda.

Celebrity Apprentice (9pm, NBC) - This is the one where Meat Loaf absolutely loses it.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Paul Young tries to stop Susan from getting his dead wife's kidney.

Army Wives (9pm, Lifetime) - The aftermath of Jeremy's tragic death leads to life-changing decisions for the wives.

Body of Proof (10pm, ABC) - No, you're not crazy. This new Dana Delany drama normally airs on Tuesday nights at 10pm. Consider tonight a special ... treat? Tonight, a young interracial couple is found shot and killed in their car and Dr. Hunt finds evidence that contradicts the police theory of the crime.

What to Watch on Sunday: A heartbroken tiger tale, 'Episodes' finale

Broken Tail: A Tiger's Last Journey (8pm, UNC-TV) - In this "Nature" special, wildlife filmmaker Colin Stafford-Johnson follows the trek of Broken Tail, a 2-year-old tiger that disappeared from a tiger reserve in India and was killed by a train 100 miles away. Stafford-Johnson had spent 600 days filming Broken Tail and his family prior to the disappearance.

Saturday Night Live Backstage (9pm, NBC) - A two-hour behind-the-scenes special that focuses on the guest host experience. Told through clips and interviews.

Big Love (9pm, HBO) - Barb's choice of an ally in her pursuit of the priesthood displeases her mother (Ellen Burstyn) and Bill faces a Mormon boycott of his stores.

Episodes (9:30pm, Showtime) - In the season finale, the disastrous "Puck!" pilot wraps and a disappointed Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) prepare to return to London. A final goodbye between Matt LeBlanc and Sean (left) takes an unexpected turn thanks to a missing Jaguar, a red-nosed reindeer, and cinnamon. There's some really funny physical comedy in this episode. Looking forward to a Season 2!

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The man who murdered Horatio's returns and spreads violence across Miami. Add in a ticking puck at an NHL All-Star game and we might have another "Threat Level Midnight" on our hands. Oops, wrong network.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Nora is torn over a possible reconnection with her long-ago boyfriend Brody (Beau Bridges), and Justin tries to help a homeless veteran who doesn't want his help. Directed by Matthew Rhys, who plays Kevin on the show.
