"Mad Men's" Sally Draper mixes a mean cocktail

Setting Don Draper aside, the women of "Mad Men" have always been the strongest characters on the show. And now we can add little Sally Draper to that group.

The oft-ignored daughter of Don and Betty Draper, played so very nicely by nine-year-old Kiernan Shipka, has been getting significant screen time this season, nearly dominating last week's episode about the sudden death of Betty's father Gene.

Tomorrow night's episode of "Mad Men" will also center on Sally as she continues to deal with . . .

What to Watch on Sunday: L&O SVU marathon; Peggy Olsen takes Manhattan

Law & Order: SVU (6am, USA) - Day 3 in USA's Awards Marathon series. It's another series acquired by USA after a first run on another network (in this case, parent company NBC), but who's counting. The award winner here is Mariska Hargitay, of course. Hargitay has been Emmy-nominated for her work as Det. Olivia Benson six times (she won in 2006). She has also been nominated for 4 SAG Awards and won a Golden Globe Award in 2005. The marathon lasts till 4am Monday.

Shark Tank (9pm, ABC) - Three of the sharks fight over a deal on an internet company idea from two brothers from Brazil.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - Last week, Gramps and Sally came dangerously close to rumbling over a filched $5 bill. Tonight, it's Don's turn to clash with his father-in-law. Also, Peggy embraces her freedom and decides to move to Manhattan, so she's looking for a roomate. How I wish Joan would leave her fiance and move in with her. Talk about The Odd Couple...

Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (10pm, E!) - Khloe hosts a transsexual Khloe Kardashian look-alike contest. That's gotta be good for the ego.

Peggy gets high and "Mad Men" gets renewed

So, Peggy got high as a kite Sunday night and now AMC is announcing that "Mad Men" will return for a fourth season.

Not that there's necessarily any correlation between the two, but if you'd like to celebrate this good news, you can now add an additional "Mad Men" vice to your hedonistic repertoire in addition to cigarettes, booze, and uh, let's call it "socializing."

What did you think of mellow Peggy? After last week's exercise in proving to herself that she can still pick up a man in a bar and close the deal, we'll wager this is the season when Peggy really embraces the Swinging Sixties. It was pleasantly jarring to go from watching Pete and his wife do the Charleston (not to mention Roger Sterling's cringe-inducing blackface serenade) to Peggy smoking a joint and giving her old school secretary a lesson in "back off."

What to Watch on Sunday: "Mad Men" gramps vs. the littlest bartender

Daytime Emmy Awards (8pm, CW) - Vanessa Williams hosts and "Sesame Street" receives the Lifetime Achievement Award. There's also a special tribute to "Guiding Light," which ends its 72-year run next month.

Live From the Essence Music Festival (8pm, TV One) - A two-hour sampling of acts from the 15th annual New Orleans music festival includes Beyonce, Ne-Yo, and John Legend.

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Tonight's episode features Raleigh's Evan Rachel Wood as the 1,100-year-old Vampire Queen who is approached by Bill for assistance in battling the maenad, Maryann. Also, Sookie and Lafayette work on keeping Tara straight, while Jessica tests Hoyt's bond with his mother.

Drop Dead Diva (9pm, Lifetime) - Deb juggles attending Jane's high school reunion with defending and eccentric client's sanity. Gregory Harrison guest stars.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - Betty's sulky manipulation of Don last week won the family the "careful what you ask for" prize of living with the constantly cranky and mentally incapacitated Grandpa, who promptly thanked them by pouring all their good liquor down the drain. This week, Gramps has a run-in with our favorite budding bartender, little Sally. Back at the office, the staff is required to work late and the writers get creative trying to stave off boredom. High-jinx ensue. Wink, wink.

What to Watch on Sunday: Sookie & Co. finally return to Bon Temps

Who Wants to be a Millionaire (8pm, ABC) - It's Regis's last night of special primetime "Millionaire" shows, but apparently, he's going out with a bang. First, there's a (not so) surprise guest, and then contestant Ken Basin from Los Angeles makes it to the million dollar question. Will he win the big prize?

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Sookie, Bill, and Jason (Ryan Kwanten, left) finally return to that upside down, big bowl of mess called Bon Temps. Sookie works on Tara, Bill deals with dreadful Maryann (still can't figure out why people love this character), and Jason tries to help Sam.

Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (10pm, E!) - This is the one where Khloe gets busted for having drugs (or so E! leads us to believe) at her radio job, and the one where Kourtney hooks up with another girl.

Army Wives (10pm, Lifetime) - Claudia Joy receives a shocking diagnosis after she and Denise get into a fender-bender.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - Betty's stroked-out father comes for a visit, and the Drapers must dine out with the stuffy new British boss, Lane Pryce, and his snobby wife. Meanwhile, Peggy (Elisabeth Moss, right) gets a little too personally involved in a campaign at work.

Mad Men recap: Denial. It's the Don Draper way.

Last night's much-anticipated third season premiere of "Mad Men" did not disappoint.

The nearly-perfect episode was mostly office-based, but allowed enough glimpses of Don's home life to show us that he's trying, in his own way, to make things work with Betty and the kids, and to preserve at least some vestige of a happy family.

But, as we also saw, Don has not changed even one of his tom catting stripes. When will he ever learn?

If you haven't watched yet, don't read any further.

What to Watch on Sunday: Michael Vick, Mad Men, and much more

60 Minutes (7pm, CBS) - NFL Today anchor James Brown interviews dog murderer Michael Vick (left), who was recently released from prison and then signed with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this week. Also, Steve Kroft profiles the British rock group Coldplay and interviews Chris Martin.

Shark Tank (9pm, ABC) - The sharks hear an idea about a life-saving product, a new learning technique, and a gourmet food brand.

Drop Dead Diva (9pm, Lifetime) - Former CSI star Jorja Fox guest stars as a woman with a 20-year-old arrest warrant who goes to Jane for help.

My Antonio (10pm, VH1) - Former Calvin Klein underwear model Antonio Sabato Jr is looking for love on a television show. His mom is helping. Read Antonio's interview with Happiness is a Warm TV.

P. Diddy's Starmaker (10pm, MTV) - Yet another Diddy show with young entertainers hoping to make it big.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - The third season opener has the folks at Sterling Cooper adjusting to the company's merger with a British firm, while Don and Sal travel to Baltimore for a meeting with London Fog.

Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami (10pm, E!) - In this "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" spinoff, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian leave Calabasas, California, to open a new Dash store in Miami. In addition to the new store, Khloe is also working on a new career as a late night radio personality. The first show has everything you might expect from these two: screaming, cursing, name-calling, drinking, tantrums, inappropriate make-out sessions . . .

Reality Hell (10:30pm, E!) - A new reality show in which unwitting reality show contestants compete on fake reality shows. The point of all this seems to be to humiliate the constestants who are in the dark. If you enjoy shows that make fools of people, you will like this.

On Sunday: "Mad Men" and the British Invasion

As all of us "Mad Men" freaks are well aware, the show's third season returns this Sunday night.

"Mad Men's" previous season, which is currently nominated for 16 Emmys, left us with the promise of change. Big change. Together, we witnessed Don Draper's mini breakdown, the Cuban Missile Crisis, several disintegrating relationships, and a takeover at Sterling Cooper by a British ad agency.

Season three picks up roughly . . .

Ad men wanted in Banana Republic's "Mad Men" contest

Ack! Just two days left to win a walk-on role on AMC's "Mad Men," which returns for a third season on Sunday.

Here's the deal: You've got to go to one of the area's two Banana Republic stores (at Crabtree Valley Mall or The Street at Southpoint) and get the entry code from the store's "Mad  About Style" guide. Then you've got to upload a picture of you looking like you could walk the halls of Sterling Cooper. Or better still, hang with Betty Draper in the 'burbs.

Find out more here.

Or if you want, go to the site to vote for one of the would-be walk-ons. Seriously? If you look at the competition so far, you could win this thing easy.

The world's gone Mad, so get ready for "Mad Men" marathon Monday

AMC is showing the entire second season of "Mad Men" beginning Monday morning at 7am. The thirteen episodes will run through till 8pm, so clean out that DVR and make some room! You'll need to get caught up before the premiere of season 3, next Sunday night at 10pm.

"Mad Men" has become more than just a critically acclaimed television show, it's become a pop culture phenomenon. Half the people you know probably made "Mad Men" avatars to use on Facebook, and there's a strong retro movement celebrating the styles and fashion of the time. Whether you want to deck out your pad or deck out yourself . . .
