Quarterback Tyler Cameron, tight end Anthony Cook and defensive tackle Josh Banks (Cary Middle Creek) headline Wake Forest's list of football signees today.

As usual, Demon Deacons coach Jim Grobe dipped into Florida for recruits, including Cameron, a three-star recruit from Jupiter, Fla.

The Wake Forest Football Miracle fell apart last season. At one point the Demon Deacons lost nine games in a row, crashing to a 3-9 finish. It was the latest step in Wake’s decline from the 2006 Orange Bowl season, a progression that has seen them go from 11 wins to nine to eight to five to three.

Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe hasn’t lost confidence. In fact, he said Monday he sees a bounce-back season coming.

“At Wake Forest, we’ve proven we can do it,” Grobe said. “The problem is, it’s not a guarantee.”

Skinner threw three interceptions in a 24-21 loss, but coach Jim Grobe said there's plenty of blame to go around.

Jim Grobe is entering his ninth season as Wake Forest's head football coach and that's longer than many expected him to stay in Winston-Salem.

Grobe became a hot property after leading the Deacons to the ACC championship three years ago and his star hasn't dimmed significantly with 28 victories in three seasons with a program once considered among the worst in Division I-A football.

Asked Sunday if he's surprised Grobe is still the Deacons' coach, quarterback Riley Skinner said, "Yes."

When Tom O’Brien and Jim Grobe look across the field to the opposite sideline on Saturday, in some respects it will be like looking in the mirror.

Yes, O’Brien is a lot taller than Grobe. And Grobe’s Wake Forest program is much more established than O’Brien’s in his second season at N.C. State.

But the similarities between the programs are obvious.

Tommy Bowden is in trouble at Clemson. Thursday’s loss at Wake Forest left no doubt about that. The fact that Bowden actually is still a good coach is no longer relevant.

He’ll land on his feet, assuming he still has an inner compass that will move him back to the offensive systems that made him such a hot target at Tulane in the mid 1990s.

But at this rate, the Tigers will be looking for a new football coach at season’s end. Here are 10 guys to keep an eye on:
