Xavier Nixon, a two-way line star for Fayetteville Britt, has been named as the Gatorade North Carolina football player of the year.

Nixon is the top-ranked offensive lineman in the country, according to Scout.com, but also has starred on defense for the 13-1 club. Britt plays at home Friday night against Wake Forest-Rolesville in the N.C.High School Athletic Association 4-AA semifinals.
