What to Watch on Friday: 'Grimm' and 'Fashion Star' return on NBC

Edge of America (11am, Travel) - A show we like that keeps getting bounced around by Travel. The two latest episodes air back-to-back this morning from 11 to noon. Host Geoff Edgers has adventures in Nevada and Louisiana.

Fashion Star (8pm, NBC) - Season 2 opens with aspiring designers creating a show-stopping look and braving their first runway show. Louise Roe is the new host.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - "Grimm" is back after a long break. Tonight, while struggling to process the truth about Juliette and Renard (Sasha Roiz, right), Nick is called to investigate his own crime. Elsewhere, Renard finds Nick's trailer and forms a new alliance.

Golden Boy (9pm, CBS) - "Golden Boy" makes itself at home tonight in its new, permanent timeslot. Clark and Owen investigate the murder of a gang member at a housing development, where a teen was also injured. And Arroyo threatens to go public with evidence that Clark gave a criminal informant confiscated money.

Shark Tank (9pm, ABC) - A former rodeo rider talks up his workout program, and two friends pitch what they claim is a damage-proof case for cell phones.

Touch (9pm, Fox) - Lucy loses her cool after three years of searching for Amelia and considers a risky proposition from Calvin. Meanwhile, Martin and Jake try to find Lucy with help from Trevor at Breakwire.

What to Watch on Friday: Rapper Travie McCoy teams with Reba on 'Malibu Country'

Undercover Boss (8pm, CBS) - Kat Cole, the president of Cinnabon, works undercover at her own company.
Malibu Country (8:30pm, ABC) - Reba is ecstatic when she learns one of her songs is to be recorded, but her joy is short-lived when she hears it's to be sung by rapper Travie McCoy (as himself). Meanwhile, Lillie Mae has a secret admirer, and Cash tries to downplay his Southern accent in an effort to fit in with his California classmates.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - A Fringe event is created by a member of the team as the rebellion reaches a new level of intensity.

Raised Wild (9pm, Animal Planet) - In this series, British anthropologist Mary-Ann Ochota investigates cases of children who were reared without human contact. The first installment features a Ugandan man who sought sanctuary with vervet monkeys after his mother died when he was young.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - In what NBC is calling the show's "fall finale," Adalind returns to Portland seeking revenge, specifically targeting Nick, Hank and Juliette. Meanwhile, Capt. Renard's obsession grows, and Monroe gets a surprise at the spice shop.

We Will Always Love You: A Grammy Salute to Whitney Houston (10pm, CBS) - Highlights from Whitney Houston's career are featured in a celebration of her life that also includes performances by Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, CeCe Winans and Yolanda Adams.

What to Watch on Friday: Chef Ramsay takes 'Kitchen Nightmares' to Brooklyn

Kitchen Nightmares (8pm, Fox) - Chef Gordon Ramsay visits Mama Maria's, an Italian restaurant and pizzeria in Brooklyn where the exhausted owner has lost control of the staff and the food he serves.

Malibu Country (8:30pm, ABC) - A tabloid rumor about her ex's new romance spurs Reba to entertain the notion of meeting men, so she accepts an offer to go on a blind date.

Shark Tank (9pm, ABC) - Comedy writer Bruce Vilanch helps pitch an idea for a virtual classroom designed to teach technology to baby boomers.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - A team member assumes a new role, while Walter searches for a vital object to help in the fight against the Observers.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - Hank's newfound knowledge of the Wesen world leads him to question an arret he made earlier in his career. Also, Monroe deals with an unexpected situation at the spice shop.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Maher's first post-election show feature guests James Carville, S.E. Cupp, Andrew Sullivan and Samuel L. Jackson.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - Danny learns about voodoo while investigating a stabbing committed by someone in costume on Halloween. Meanwhile, Garrett reveals a deep secret to Frank, and Erin and Nicky take Danny's sons trick-or-treating.

What to Watch on Friday: North Carolina man pitches to the 'Shark Tank'

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - A North Carolina man explains to the sharks what makes his drink insulators so special, while cousins from Maine look for backing for their lobster roll food truck. Also, NFL player Brandon Jacobs helps a New Jersey woman pitch her protein-infused energy drink.

Nikita (9pm, CW) - The third season begins with Ryan and Nikita taking charge of Division. Their first mission is to bring in the "Dirty Thirty," a group of rogue agents who failed to respond to Division's call.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - Nick and Hank investigate the murder of a high school athlete. Also, Capt. Renard deals with unwanted romantic attention and Monroe gets an unexpected visitor at the spice shop.

Hunted (10pm, Cinemax) - In this new spy drama series, a private security guard returns to work unannounced after an attempt on her life, a hit that may have been carried out by her own colleagues. Her first assignment is to infiltrate the family of an ambitious tycoon whose plans are at odds with her client's.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - Danny and Jackie are taken off a murder case involving a bride and reassigned to protect a Central American president, who's under threat of assassination. Elsewhere, Vinny performs an unjustified stop, causing Jamie to challenge his tactics.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - Audrey finds herself protecting Haven's criminals -- and Duke -- from a dangerous female vigilante whose methods for bringing down bad guys are questionable.

What to Watch on Friday: Chicago bankruptcy crisis on 'Boss'

CSI: NY (8pm, CBS) - Mac and Joe search for a missing teen girl in San Francisco based on evidence found in photos at a crime scene on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - Dresses made from pillowcases is a concept Lori and Daymond are willing to fight over. Also, a South Carolina woman gets laughs with her name for a special spatula.

Boss (9pm, Starz) - Chicago's bankruptcy crisis means a loss of power for Kane (Kelsey Grammer, left) as emergency measures are put in place, but threats by his enemies to expose him could be of even greater concern.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - An investigation into a gruesome murder leads Nick and Hank to an unstable father and his daughter.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - Erin's ex-husband reappears in her life and goes up against her in court. Meanwhile, Danny suspects a serial killer is responsible for the murders of two people who were accused in a gang rape.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - Audrey investigates a sudden rise in ocean-related deaths.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Guests tonight are Ben Affleck, Darrell Issa, Brian Schweitzer, Ann Coulter and Sheila Bair.

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - A Tampa man and his pregnant wife serve their famous chicken dip to the sharks, and an injured NFL athlete has an idea for a spring-loaded laundry hamper. Also, a follow-up from a Season 3 customized cruiser bike business.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - Monroe's old flame Angelina returns with a warning that he may be in danger due to his continuing alliance with Nick. Meanwhile, Hank expands his Wesen knowledge while working with Nick to protect Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell, left).

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - Members of the Fringe team go to Walter's former lab at Harvard looking for crucial information that could aid their current rebellion against the Observer overlords.

Boss (9pm, Starz) - Kane reluctantly enters an alliance with a longtime foe on the City Council, but he soon realizes that more serious measures must be undertaken to stave off bankruptcy.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - A woman recants a domestic abuse claim, but Danny and Jackie continue to investigate the situation. Soon they uncover the woman's secret affair with a powerful politician who is friends with Frank. Meanwhile, Linda returns to the workforce, causing chaos at home.

Haven (10pm, Syfy) - A Boston cop connects a murder in Haven to similar crimes, leading Audrey and Nathan to suspect they are dealing with a killer who is harvesting organs.

What to Watch on Friday: A night of CBS drama premieres

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - Entertainment reporter Robin Leach helps pitch a line of stone-studded jewelry, and a Vermont couple try to sell investors on vegan, gluten-free cookies.

CSI: New York (8pm, CBS) - The ninth season begins with a fire chief being killed in a blaze that was started using the same technique employed by a recently paroled arsonist.

Made in Jersey (9pm, CBS) - This new CBS drama follows an attorney (Janet Montgomery, right) from a working class background who uses her street smarts as she tackles cases at an elite New York City firm. In the pilot episode, Martina impresses her boss and gets put on a murder case involving a student and a professor. Adrienne reviews.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - In the Season 5 opener, Peter and Etta search for Olivia in 2036 as the Fringe Team, released from amber after 20 years, joins the rebellion to halt the Observers' world dominance.

The Last Resort (9pm, ABC) - The season premiere of this tense Andre Braugher-Scott Speedman drama, which normally airs on Thursdays at 8, repeats tonight at 9. If you missed it, check it out.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - Monroe investigates a Wesen church after a robbery occurs there. Nick is followed by a menacing adversary as he works to reconnect with Juliette.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - In the Season 3 opener, a criminal seeks revenge on Danny by abducting Jackie. Elsewhere, Jamie is assigned a new partner, and a young cop is unnerved after he mistakenly shoots an innocent person.

What to Watch on Monday: 'Coma' miniseries begins on A&E

North Carolina Now (7:30pm, UNC-TV) - NC Now reporter Jeff Smith has a special report from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base's 916th Air Refueling Wing, including some amazing footage of planes refueling in the air. Repeats at 1:30 a.m. and also at midnight and 5 a.m on UNC-MX.

The L.A. Complex (8pm, CW) - Connor receives life-changing news while Nick searches for inspiration in unexpected places. Also, a handsome stranger sweeps Abby off her feet.

Hotel Hell (8pm, Fox) - In this 2-hour Season 1 finale, a run-down Pennsylvania hotel needs to be cleaned of dead bugs and stained bedspreads. In the second hour, the owner of a converted schoolhouse hotel in Idaho needs help addressing the building's musty smell. This season was way too short.

Coma (9pm, A&E) - In the first part of a two-part miniseries, a doctor suspects foul play at her hospital after seemingly healthy patients fall into comas. Adapted from Robin Cook's novel. Starring Ellen Burstyn, Geena Davis, Richard Dreyfuss, James Woods and Lauren Ambrose. The conclusion airs tomorrow night.

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - The unit joins forces with the FBI when a homicide case spins around the Israeli mob and an "intuitive life strategist." Meanwhile, Provenza displays his vulnerable saide, and Rusty's first school day takes an unexpected turn.

Grimm (10pm, NBC) - Nick discovers a highly contagious Wesen disease while investigating an accident. Elsewhere, Monroe and Rosalee come face-to-face with an infected creature, and Capt. Rendard learns that a dangerous international fugitive has arrived in town.

The Inbetweeners (10:30pm, MTV) - After a failed attempt of day drinking at  bowling alley, the boys decide to join Carly and her friends for a night of clubbing.

What to Watch on Monday: Republican Convention starts up in Tampa

Republican National Convention - UPDATE: Isaac has really messed things up. Not much is happening in Tampa except for the storm, but if anything happens, it'll be on cable news (the major broadcast networks hadn't scheduled primetime coverage for tonight even before Isaac blew in). Today's cancelations will likely mean extended coverage Tuesday-Thursday.  Tonight's highlights include speeches from Ann Romney, South Carolina governor Nikki Haley and former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee.  Here's more information about RNC viewing.

Alphas (8pm, Syfy) - A tech whiz, played by Summer Glau, helps Rosen learn the purpose of an Alpha-enhancing technology.

Hotel Hell (8pm, Fox) - A boutique hotel in San Diego has problems with its decor (based on Ferrari sports cars), room and laundry service, and the in-house restaurant. And of course, the manager is clueless, which means Gordon Ramsey will get to yell at him. A lot.

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - The gang investigates a deadly car accident at a nightclub, but facts and clues are scarce. Meanwhile, harsh truths surface when Raydor tries to locate Rusty's mother.

Grimm (10pm, NBC) - Hank helps an old friend whose daughter is missing, while Nick investigates the motives involved in the girl's disappearance.

The Inbetweeners (10:30pm, MTV) - In the second episode of this funny British remake, Simon gets his driver's license, but his new car isn't likely to impress Carly.

What to Watch on Monday: Bonds tested in 'Bunheads' finale

Hotel Hell (8pm, Fox) - Gordon Ramsey visits the inexperienced owners of a historic -- and haunted -- New York hotel. The owners may lose their investment if the business isn't turned around quickly.

Wild Justice (8pm, NGC) - Bobcat kittens are released back into the wild after being rescued from a wood chipper. Meanwhile, signs of foul play are uncovered during the investigation of a mountain's lion's death, and a black-market poaching ring is busted in California.

Bunheads (9pm, ABC Family) - In tonight's "sort of" finale, Fanny (Kelly Bishop) and Michelle (Sutton Foster), right, bond as they collaborate on "The Nutcracker" recital. Michelle organizes a fundraiser and advises the girls on their boy drama, but her friendship with Fanny goes off track when some mistakes are made. Foster recently told Entertainment Weekly that the episode ends in a cliffhanger, which means it's extra great news that ABC Family just extended the season. I guess that makes tonight's show a mid-season finale instead of a season finale. Either way, more "Bunheads" so hooray!

Major Crimes (9pm, TNT) - As Raydor works to gain respect in the division, the Major Crimes crew works to crack the case of a brutal and complicated homicide. Meanwhile, Raydor tries to supervise Rusty and Provenzo struggles to accept all the changes in the department.

Perception (10pm, TNT) - Pierce is enlisted to help the FBI investigate the slaying of a therapist. Meanwhile, Moretti gets closer to Professor Hathaway and Haley uses Pierce as a pawn to get funding for a new building. TNT has already ordered a second season of "Perception."

Grimm (10pm, NBC) - Nick and his mother team up to fight the Mauvias Dentes. Meanwhile, details about Juliette's affliction come to light as Monroe and Rosalee race against the clock to save her.

Alphas (10pm, Syfy) - The team responds when Rachel gets kidnapped while visiting the hospital.
