Two coupon inserts coming in Sunday's N&O

                           

Look for two coupon inserts -- one Smart Source and one Red Plum -- in this Sunday's home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer.

There will be a combined total of 109 coupons with a face value of about $148, including one coupon for a free item.



As always, I'll have the coupon database updated and the very best of the drugstore and Kroger deals posted early Sunday morning. That way, you'll have the most complete and up-to-date coupon information for the Triangle at your finger tips.

Free travel-size sunscreen from CVS Minute Clinic

                                            

CVS is giving away free travel-size tubes of sunscreen via its Minute Clinic Facebook page.

Click HERE to sign up for a completely free 2 oz. tube. The offer is available through Friday, Aug. 10, or while supplies last.

Print the coupon that shows up in your email in-box and take it to CVS through Aug. 26.

Get the kids FREE haircuts at JC Penney

          

You can't hardly send the kids back to school without a new back-to-school haircut.

So why not get the job done for free?

JC Penney hair salons are offering free cuts the entire month of August for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade.

The free cuts are at every JC Penney salon across the country.

Schedule an appointment in advance at 855-JCP-KIDS.

For every free haircut, JC Penney will donate $1 to the Boys & Girls clubs of America -- up to $50,000.

FREE movies at N.C. State campus theater

If you're looking for cheap entertainment, how does a free movie sound?

N.C. State's Campus Cinema, located in the Witherspoon Student Center, shows free and extraordinarily cheap movies on a regular basis.

And you don't have to be a student or faculty member to take advantage of the freebies.

McAlister's Deli is serving up free iced tea on Thursday, July 26.

Free yogurt this weekend at new Streets at Southpoint shop

Frozia, a new frozen yogurt shop at Durham's Streets at Southpoint, will hold its grand opening this weekend -- with freebies for customers.

Then next week, Frozia's owners Mo Rafiq and Bill Renton, will follow up with the grand opening of another venture at Southpoint, the Nestle Toll House Cafe.

Free hot dogs at Kangaroo Express on Monday, July 23

                        

If you're a fan of hot dogs, pencil in Kangaroo Express for lunch on Monday.

The convenience store chain is giving away free Ball Park hot dogs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 23 -- one per customer.

The offer is good at 1,160 participating stores throughout the Southeast, while supplies last.

In case you were wondering, the freebie is to celebrate National Hot Dog Day.

Free Dippin' Dots on Saturday, July 14

Heads up, freebie fans.

After you partake of a free meal at Chick-fil-A and wash it down with a free Starbucks Refreshers iced beverage on Friday, you can head over to a Dippin' Dots for a free cup of ice cream on Saturday.

From 7 to 9 p.m., Dippin' Dots stores and mall kiosks will be giving away free small cups of Clusterz, which are ice cream dots clustered in crunchy chocolate.

You'll need a coupon, which you can print HERE.

The coupon will not be accepted at theme park, baseball park and other speciality locations.

In the Triangle, you can find Dippin' Dots at Crabtree Valley and Streets of Southpoint malls.

Free Starbucks on Friday, July 13

                    

Never mind what the calendar reads on Friday (July 13), Starbucks fans are in luck.

From noon to 3 p.m., treat yourself to a FREE Starbucks Refreshers drink. No purchase necessary.

You will receive a 12 oz. iced beverage -- just for coming in. One per person.

It looks like you'll have your choice of two flavors: Cool Lime or Very Berry Hibiscus, which is made with whole blackberries.

The drinks are low-calorie and made with green coffee extract.

This is a nationwide freebie but if you have any doubts, I would call ahead to ensure your Starbucks is participating.
