Lego Store: Kids build a free Star Wars figure today, May 1

Kids can build their own miniature Star Wars figure at the Lego Store at Crabtree Valley Mall today, May 1.

Starting at 5 p.m., the first 150 kids at the store will get a free kit to build a Holocron Droid.

The event is for kids ages 6 to 14.

Shop without paying a guest fee and while you're there, try the free-sample extravaganza the warehouse has scheduled from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, April 26-28.

Cakes, cheeses, steak and steak salad, pork chops, chicken, pork tenderloin, artichoke spinach dip, pasta salad and lemonade are among the foods that will be sampled.

I've got two pairs of tickets to the Southern Women's show at the State Fairgrounds this weekend to give away on the blog.

Tickets are normally $10 but two lucky readers will each get a free pair.
