2010 football schedule: UNC

2009 record: 8-5, 4-4 ACC
Bowl teams (in '09): eight
Main event: LSU (Sept. 4 )
Miss in the ACC: BC, Wake, Maryland
Gimme: William & Mary (Oct. 30)

Bottom line: By far the toughest schedule for UNC in four
seasons under Butch Davis, a major step up in competition with SEC
power LSU in the opener and a road game at Rutgers, a likely preseason
top 25 team.

2010 football schedule: Duke

2009 record: 5-7, 3-5 ACC
Bowl teams (in '09): seven
Main event: Alabama (Sept. 18 )
Miss in the ACC: N.C. State, Florida State, Clemson
Gimme: Elon (Sept. 4)

Bottom line: Duke coach David Cutcliffe spent a lot of time
talking about a bowl last season but came up short. This schedule,
while not as friendly on paper as last year's, does have some holes.

2010 football schedule: N.C. State

2009 record: 5-7, 2-6 ACC
Bowl teams (in '09): nine
Main event: Cincinnati (Thursday, Sept 16 )
Miss in the ACC: Duke, Virginia, Miami
Gimme: Western Carolina (Sept. 4)

Bottom line: With two road games outside the ACC, the Wolfpack
has six home games, compared to eight last season, and only four on
Saturdays.
