Goldman Sachs aims for better image with ads

Investment bank Goldman Sachs is trying to improve its tarnished image.

The company began an advertising campaign today with full-page newspaper ads that emphasize Goldman Sachs role in alternative energy and job creation, Bloomberg News reports. The ads ran in newspapers including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The News & Observer.

The ads will extend to other national, regional and local newspapers during the next few months, spokesman David Wells told Bloomberg. Wells declined to disclose the budget for the campaign, which is being handled by Young & Rubicam.
