Donate $1 to Easter Seals, get $9.50 in coupons at Food Lion

Now through March 12, Food Lion is offering shoppers the opportunity to do a good deed and get a good deal at the same time.

Shoppers who donate $1 to Easter Seals at checkout will receive a booklet filled with coupons valued at $9.50.

Four of the coupons are manufacturer coupons for Kraft Foods products and four of the coupons are Food Lion store coupons for P&G products.

Below is a list of the coupons contained in this year's booklet.

Free cookies at Great American Cookie Company

                        

Great American Cookie Company stores will be giving away free cookies during the month of  October.

Everyone who stops by on Monday, Oct. 1, will get a free chocolate chip cookie to publicize the chain's "Reading is Sweet" book drive.

The rest of the month, you can snag a free cookie of your choice when you donate a new or gently used book.

Donate to the Food Bank, Get a free Chick-fil-A sandwich

Donate three or more canned food items during Capital Area Transit's "Stuff the Bus" event tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 19), and you'll receive a coupon for a free Chick-fil-A sandwich for your kindness.

The bus will be parked in the 400 block of Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh, across the street from Chick-fil-A.

Donation hours are 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free chicken sandwich coupons are valid from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. tomorrow only -- and only at the downtown location.

The food donations will be given to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Goodwill opens new store in Holly Springs

A new Goodwill store opened today, July 12, in Holly Springs, the 36th store for Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina and the second store in Holly Springs.

Located at 925 Avent Ferry Road, the store opened with shoppers "lined up around the building," Goodwill spokeswoman Becky Lytle said.

Head over to the Bruegger's bagels Facebook page and you're one click away from donating $1 to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

Click once more and you've got yourself a free iced coffee drink on June 21.

Freebie reminder: Eat free at IHOP on Tuesday

                                            

Here's a friendly reminder about the first of several upcoming free food opportunities:

Starting at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 28, IHOP is celebrating National Pancake Day with a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes for every customer.

In return, customers are asked to consider making a donation to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other designated local charities.

The giveaway runs through 10 p.m. That's 15 hours of free pancakes.
