Triangle drugstores have several good deals this week, including bargains on Gevalia coffee, Carmex lip balm, Colgate toothpaste, Mentos, Blue Diamond almonds, Edy's ice cream, Brach's jelly beans, Softsoap hand soap, Kleenex, General Mills cereals, Scrubbing Bubbles and Advil cold medicine.

You can also pick up a free ThermaCare heat wrap and free Advil cold medicine at CVS, free Nivea lip balm and free Poise products at Rite Aid and free Colgate at Walgreens.

There are lots of great deals at Triangle grocery stores this week:

Among the best deals at Harris Teeter: free Chicken of the Sea tuna, free Old El Paso seasonings, 10-cent Liberte yogurt, 31-cent Pillsbury rolls, 49-cent Gorton's fish and Mrs. Butterworth's syrup for 89 cents.

Lowes Foods is offering a deal on discounted gift cards, a gasoline rewards promotion, and a 10 for $10 sale with coupon match-ups that drop prices on many items to 50 cents.

Food Lion has great deals this week on Gala apples, limes, Fresh Express or Dole bagged salad, Roma tomatoes and avocados.

At Aldi, the deals on fresh fruit are fantastic: pineapple and cantaloupe are 99 cents each, as are 16-oz. packages of strawberries, 6-oz. packages of blueberries and 2-lb. bags of lemons. If you've been on the fence about trying Aldi, this is the week to go.

For the fourth -- and final -- week in a row, Kroger is offering customers a coupon for a free product through its digital coupon program.

Today, Feb. 8, you will be able to load a coupon for a free 2 liter of Pepsi Next to your Kroger loyalty card.

The coupon is only available on Feb. 8 but you have until Feb. 23 to redeem it.

Today's digital freebie is the final one in what Kroger Mid-Atlantic spokesman Carl York described as a four-week test to "jump start what we're doing digitally."

York said there will likely be future freebies -- and more digital coupons overall -- but "we want to take a breath and measure it to get some feedback from customers."

"We're going to put more and more coupons out there to drive people to our site," he said.

If you've never added digital coupons to your Kroger loyalty card, it's easy to do.

Kroger made big news in the coupon world last week when it announced it will end double coupons in the Cincinnati, Dayton and Northern Kentucky markets.

And it's not the first time Kroger, based in Cincinnati, has pulled the plug on doubling coupons.

The grocery chain, the nation's largest, previously halted double coupon promotions in parts of Texas and California, leaving coupon shoppers wondering if double coupons will eventually become a thing of the past at Kroger-affiliated stores nationwide.

Kroger has good deals this week on General Mills cereals, boneless chicken breasts, Green Giant frozen vegetables, Lean Pockets and Smart Ones frozen entrees.

Also take note of another Friday freebie available through Kroger's digital coupon page. This week's freebie -- available Feb. 8 -- is a 2 liter of Pepsi Next.
