The big news at Kroger this week is its "Buy 10, Save $5 instantly" promotion. There are lots of good deals to be snagged, including Hefty freezer bags, Birdseye Steamfresh vegetables, Chex Mix, Progresso soup and Activia yogurt -- all for under 50 cents each.

You'll also be able to score free Colgate toothpaste, free Ro-Tel tomatoes and free milk, with the purchase of four cereals at 99 cents each, along with bargain prices on Edy's ice cream and Red Baron, Tombstone and DiGiorno frozen pizzas.

Sunday drugstore deals, Jan. 13-19

The drugstores have several good deals this week, including bargains on GE CFL light bulbs (just 49 cents each), soda and snacks, Campbell's soup, Suave products, American Greetings cards, toilet paper, laundry detergent and shaving products.

Among the freebies: a ThermaCare heat patch, bottled ice tea and Lindsay olives.

But the best deal of the week -- by far: Score free milk when you buy four boxes of healthy cereal this week at Walgreens. Even better, use coupons to get the price of the cereal down to just $1.25 per box.

Kroger deals, Jan. 13-19

At Kroger this week, shoppers have the opportunity to score a free gallon of milk with cereal purchase, along with free Lever 2000 soap, free Suave deodorant, 25-cent Colgate, 50-cent liquid Dial hand soap and ultra-cheap yogurt.

You'll also be able to stock up on split chicken breasts for just 99 cents per pound, a great price.

Sunday drugstore deals, Dec. 23

With Christmas just two days away, the drugstore deals aren't all that generous this week. But all three major chains will be open Christmas Day for those last-minute purchases.

As you might suspect, there are deals on cold medicines, batteries and holiday candy. Also look for shampoo and razor deals. And, the Christmas clearance is beginning early.

New Aldi deals, Nov. 21-27

Aldi released a new circular today with deals valid through Tuesday, Nov. 27.

Typical for Aldi, the produce deals are stellar.

Take a look:

Celery: 69 cents per bunch.

Sweet potatoes: 99 cents for a three-pound bag.

Broccoli: 99 cents for 14 ounces.

Cranberries: 99 cents for 12 ounces.

Pineapple: 99 cents each!

Russet potatoes: $1.69 for 10 pounds.

I've bumped this post up for those among us who have yet to buy a bird for Thanksgiving.

Make room in your freezer fridge, folks.

It's time to buy your Thanksgiving turkey.

And you're in luck because most Triangle stores have the birds on deep discount in hopes that once you've picked your turkey, you'll wander the aisles, filling your cart with all the fixings to go with your Thanksgiving meal.

Instead, the retailer's annual freebie extravaganza will start this Sunday, Nov. 18, according to the advance ad posted HERE on the CVS.com website.

There are dozens of items that will be completely free after Extra Bucks Rewards. Find a coupon to match and you'll have a moneymaker on your hands.
