Wednesday deals (April 11-17)

Harris Teeter has multiple e-vic specials this week and some of them turn out to be pretty spectacular deals when you combine them with coupons. Kellogg's Raisin Bran for 72 cents a box, Yoplait Yogurt for 34 cents a cup and Maxwell House coffee for $1.57 are all worth a trip to HT.
At Lowes Foods, shoppers have the opportunity to shave a little money off at the gas pump when they buy select groceries. That deal is good for one week only. There are also a couple good deals using the new sheet of in-store coupons, including Jell-O for just 9 cents a box.
Food Lion has several good buys on produce, especially the red grapes for just 95 cents per pound.
And the fantastic deals on produce continue at Aldi, with $1 pineapple and cantaloupe, strawberries for 99 cents per pound and Anjou pears 99 cents for two pounds!

Read on for all the very best deals at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Aldi. For easier comparison, I've also included Sunday's Kroger deals at the bottom of the post.

Target celebrating Earth Day with coupons and a FREE reusable bag

In celebration of Earth Day, Target will be giving away free reusable shopping bags to customers on April 22.

But in the meantime, the big box store has issued a set of coupons on natural, organic and earth-friendly products. There are 38 coupons with a combined total of more than $50. The coupons are valid through May 5.

Sunday deals are up (April 8-14)

Free razors, free toothbrushes, 24-cent toothpaste and 49-cent deodorant are among the deals you can snag this week at the drugstores and Kroger.
Walgreens has the new Pepsi Next for just $1.99 per 12-pack, and with the right coupons, Rite Aid has a nice deal on Softsoap products.
Kroger is offering some solid produce deals as well as split chicken breasts for 99 cents per pound.

Also take note that Kroger has milk on sale for $2.88 per gallon, which is not quite as low as Aldi's price ($2.69 through Tuesday) but still a terrific deal.

Happy shopping, and, as always, please post any great deals you spot so we can all save more.

(If you haven't done your Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods or Food Lion shopping for the week yet, you can find those deals, good through Tuesday, here.)

Wednesday deals (April 4-10)

With Easter just a few days away, all the supermarkets are offering big savings on ham -- some as low as 99 cents per pound on the cheaper cuts. You can also pick up some outstanding deals on produce this week, including 99-cent cantaloupe at Harris Teeter, 99-cent pineapple at Aldi and extremely low prices on North Carolina sweet potatoes at just about every store.

Take note of several stellar coupon deals this week:

  • 39-cent Stove Top Stuffing Mix at Lowes Foods
  • 49-cent Cool Whip at Lowes Foods
  • FREE Colgate Toothpaste at Harris Teeter

But my absolutely favorite deal of the week is milk for just $2.69 per gallon at Aldi.

Read on for all the very best deals I spotted at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods, Food Lion and Aldi. Please add your own good deals in the comments section.

Back in the office, back to regularly scheduled blogging

After two long weeks, I'm back at work today.

I'll be updating the coupon database asap, answering phone calls and emails, posting the winners of my gift card giveaways and getting back to my regularly scheduled blogging.

Thanks so much for all your comments while I was gone. You all are the best.

Q&A with the Centsible Saver

Nearly every day, I get questions from readers, which I love, by the way. You folks keep me on my toes.

I try to answer each phone call and email as quickly as I can, and I make every effort to post replies to comments on the blog. But I know some questions fall through the cracks.

I've also realized that if one person is taking the time to pick up the phone to call me, compose an email or leave a comment, there must be many others among you who have the same questions.

So starting today, and continuing on an occasional basis, I'll be writing a Question & Answer post.

If you have a question for a future Q&A, leave a comment at the end of this post or email me at adunn@newsobserver.com. Ask me anything about coupons, rebates, saving money and living the frugal life.

I'm away for two weeks but the blog will be hard at work

A big heads up to all of you:  I'm going to be away from work for two weeks. But I won't be leaving you without a daily dose of Centsible Saver.

I've got posts scheduled to appear throughout the two weeks so please check in.

Later today, I'll be posting about how you can win free passes to the hot movie, "The Hunger Games."
