Kroger deals, April 28-May 4

Look for great deals at Kroger this week on produce, including 99-cent pineapples, 99-cent blackberries and 99-cent-per-pound apples in several varieties.

There's also a nice deal on boneless chicken breasts for $1.99 per pound.

But the biggest Kroger news is the grocery chain's decision that it will no longer double coupons as of May 12. Read about Kroger's coupon policy change HERE.

The half-day session will include information on:

Let's hear how you did at Triples and Super Doubles

It's a big week in the coupon world -- with competing coupon events at Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter.

It doesn't get much better than simultaneous Super Doubles and Triples. We've got to be the envy of coupon clippers across the country right now.

I'd love to hear how you did today -- and throughout the week. And I know your fellow couponers would too.

How much did you save? How much did you spend? Did you go to both stores or stick to just one?

Please share your totals, any unadvertised specials you found or even a funny story that happened in the aisles. Got a gripe? Share that too.

Here's how I did at back-to-back shops this morning:
(If you'd like to see pictures of both shops, head to the Centsible Saver Facebook page.)

Food Lion deals, April 24-30

With Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods battling it out for coupon shoppers this week, Food Lion is concentrating on deals that don't require coupons.

There are good deals on pork, chicken, ground beef, tomatoes, Russet potatoes, strawberries and store-brand items, along with a handful of coupon deals such as Turkey Hill ice cream and Steamfresh vegetables.

Lowes Foods Super Doubles coupon promotion is confirmed

It's confirmed. Lowes Foods is hosting a Super Doubles coupon promotion, starting Wednesday, April 24.

The grocery chain just announced the event on its Facebook page, which will compete with Harris Teeter's triple-coupon event, also starting Wednesday and lasting for seven days.

At Lowes Foods, coupons up to $2 in value will be doubled, meaning a $2 coupon will be valued at $4.

At Harris Teeter, coupons up to 99 cents will be tripled.

Look for more details and good deals lists later today with continuing updates.

Super Doubles at Lowes Foods?

Believe it or not, there are rumblings of a Super Double coupon event at Lowes Foods, starting Wednesday.

If true, this event would compete with the triple-coupon event at Harris Teeter, which national coupon forums are confirming.

Drugstore deals, April 21-27

Triangle drugstores are offering several terrific deals this week, including free peanut butter at Walgreens, and free toothpaste at CVS and Rite Aid along with nice deals on candy, cereal, nuts, jugs of liquid hand soap refills, Band-Aids and soda.

A word to the wise: That free peanut butter will fly off the shelves because not only is it free after Register Rewards, but if you have the right coupon it's a $1 moneymaker.
