Kroger deals, July 28-Aug. 3

Kroger kicks off a new "Buy 5, Save $5" promotion this week that includes lots of good deals when you use coupons, including bargains on Turkey Hill ice cream, GM cereals, Sargento cheese, Jif, Cascadian Farm, Amy's Kitchen and Diet Pepsi -- just to name a few.

There are also nice buys on sweet corn, sprite melon, cherries, chicken and London broil.

It's shaping up to a pretty nice promotion, including the opportunity to score Wisk laundry detergent for just 99 cents per jug.

Grocery deals, July 24-30

The big news in the coupon world this week is Lowes Foods Super Doubles coupon event.

But Harris Teeter, Food Lion and Aldi all have their own nice deals this week. Among the highlights:

At Harris Teeter, pick up free General Mills cereal and nice deals on Cabot and Chobani yogurts, ground beef, Sunlight dish liquid and dishwasher packs, McCain fries and YourHome toilet paper. There's also a nice meal deal featuring breakfast foods and a $4 instant-savings deal on Unilever ice cream treats.

At Food Lion, look for some nice bargains during the second week of the Big Deal promotion, along with an offer for a free pound of chicken. Also keep a lookout for good deals on Turkey Hill ice cream, ground chuck, Pillsbury cake mixes and frosting, toilet paper and paper towels.

And at Aldi, the produce deals include 99 cents for three zucchini, four ears of sweet corn, three green peppers, or two pounds of vidalia onions.

Drugstore deals, July 21-27

Triangle drugstores are offering several good deals this week. Among the highlights:

At CVS, score a free roll of paper towels, along with nice deals on Xtra laundry detergent, Pantene, Baked Lays and Filippo Berio olive oil.

At Rite Aid, pick up free Stayfree pads, along with nice deals on Gatorade, Nestle candy, Tom's of Maine, Xtra laundry detergent, Jif, 7UP and Coppertone sunscreen.

At Walgreens, be sure to check out the long list of school supplies, along with the cheap milk, 29-cent turkey bacon, and deals on Quilted Northern toilet paper, Mars candies, General Mills cereals, Diet Coke and Arm & Hammer laundry detergent.

Kroger deals, July 21-27

Look for really nice buys this week at Kroger on milk, grapes, peaches and other seasonal produce, chicken, soda, plus a handful of school supply bargains.

With coupons, you can purchase Michelina's frozen entrees for 68 cents each, Colgate toothpaste for 50 cents and Yoplait Greek yogurt for 80 cents.

Additionally, there are a two bonus gas rewards deals and another Friday freebie on July 26 -- this time around for a tube of toothpaste.

Here are this week's top grocery deals at Triangle supermarkets:

At Harris Teeter, look for good deals on strawberries, organic lettuces, chicken leg quarters, lunch meats, Kellogg's Mini Wheats, Coke brand 6-packs, McCain frozen potatoes, Blue Bunny ice cream and Thomas' English Muffins.

At Lowes Foods, you can score nice deals on Yoplait Greek 100 yogurt, Michelina's frozen entrees and Reser's deli salads, along with a fantastic deal on Wisk detergent. There are also several opportunities to earn gas rewards. And Cary store customers can save $10 instantly on a $50-plus Lowes Foods to Go order.

At Food Lion, another "Big Deal" promotion is starting, saving you up to $15 instantly on the purchase of select grocery items. Look for "Big Deal" tags on shelves throughout the store. There are also nice deals on Ben & Jerry's ice cream, Lance crackers, whole chickens, London Broil, cherries, potatoes and green peppers.

At Aldi, be sure to check out the produce prices, including peaches, plums, nectarines and grapes all for 99 cents per pound.
