Even though it's a holiday weekend, we will have coupons to clip on Sunday.

One Procter & Gamble insert is scheduled. It will contain 47 coupons with a face value of $74.

That's before every-day doubling at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods and Kroger, of course.

Sunday's News & Observer will contain two coupon inserts with 159 coupons. Look for one Red Plum and Smart Source, totaling approximately $180 in savings.

That's face value, of course, but worth much more with our opportunities to double, Super Double and triple coupons here in the Triangle.

Look for a post bright and early Sunday morning that matches up some of the best new coupons with the sales during Harris Teeter's Super Doubles promotion, which continues through Tuesday evening.

There will be one Smart Source, one Red Plum and one P&G. The face value of the coupons is $178. But that's before everyday coupon doubling at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods and Kroger -- not to mention the occasional super doubling and tripling that Harris Teeter offers.

As always, I'll post the best deals at the drugstores and Kroger about 5 a.m., the same time your Sunday paper hits your driveway. I'll also have the new coupons loaded into our coupon database.

The coupon database has been updated with all 253 of the new coupons from the five inserts in today's News & Observer.

There are a lot of great coupons today, including some rare coupons on Pepsi products and Frito-Lay snacks in the Moments to Save insert.

But a big heads up: All the coupons in that insert are short-lived. They all expire on Oct. 22. Also take note of the .55.1 coupon on a single Pepsi Max 2 liter. It will not double. It clearly states "Do Not Double" and the coding begins with a 9.
