A big welcome to new readers from Saturday's coupon workshop

Thanks to everyone who spent their Saturday morning with me learning about coupons, rebates and frugal living.

And thanks for your amazing generosity to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. You donated 134 pounds of food!

Reminder: Coupon class and food drive this Saturday

If you're coming to coupon class Saturday, I wanted to give you a few friendly reminders.

Be sure to bring a donation to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. It's a great cause AND it will get you a second chance to win some pretty amazing door prizes. At the last class in June, we collected 100 pounds of food so it would be great to beat that number.

Registration open for my next coupon workshop, Aug. 10

Registration is now open for my next coupon workshop, a three-hour class on Saturday, Aug. 10.

Learn how to save 50 percent -- or more -- in this fun and fast-paced class. On top of that, we'll feed you breakfast and send you home with some nice freebies.

If the Aug. 10 class doesn't fit your schedule, I'll be teaching my holiday-themed workshop on Saturday, Nov. 9. Registration for that class will open in late September.

I'll be teaching both classes, covering basic and advanced savings techniques, in Raleigh at The News & Observer's downtown offices, 215 S. McDowell St.

The half-day session includes information on:
