Coupon database updated

There aren't any new coupons to add to the coupon database because of the holiday weekend. But I've updated it nonetheless, deleting the 42 coupons that expired last week and highlighting in bold the slew of coupons expiring on Thursday, May 31.

Not familiar with the coupon database? You can access it on the right-hand side of the blog. There's a button at the bottom right to view it as a full-size page.
Or, you can download it as an Excel spreadsheet by clicking on the attachment at the bottom of this post.
It's a handy tool, listing every coupon we receive in the Triangle in the Sunday N&O.

Rare $1.50/1 coupon on Bush's Grillin' Beans

Update: The company has removed the coupon from its Facebook page. But you may want to keep a look out for it to reappear later this summer. Companies frequently reissue these offers.

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend picnics, Bush's has released a rare high-value coupon on its Grillin' Beans.

Combine the $1.50/1 coupon with the sales at Harris Teeter or Food Lion and you'll walk out paying just 17 cents for a can. And remember, you can print two of these coupons.

Don't forget to sign up for coupon class

If you've been wanting to sharpen your coupon skills, here's your chance to take a crash course.

Registration is now open for my next coupon workshop, a half-day class on Saturday, June 16.

You'll leave with all the information you need to start saving at least 50 percent on your weekly grocery bill, if not more. We'll also feed you breakfast and give you a nice goodie bag to take home with you.

Free Ocean Spray juice at CVS

Word has it in the coupon blogosphere that CVS will have a BOGO sale on Ocean Spray juice starting Sunday.

And that means two free bottles of juice.

Here's the deal:

Swap coupons this week at McDonald's

Two McDonald's restaurants in the Triangle are hosting coupon swaps this week.

It's a great opportunity to bolster your supply of coupons for Harris Teeter's ongoing Triple Coupon event.

The swaps are at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at the following McDonald's:

  • 3508 Millbrook Road in Raleigh
  • 1830 Walnut Street in Cary

Put your unwanted clipped coupons in an envelope and bring them to swap with fellow couponers.

If you've never attended a coupon swap, I highly recommend it. It's a great way to gather extra coupons for the products your family regularly uses.

Updated: Harris Teeter Triple Coupon good deals list

Updated again Tuesday evening with unadvertised deals.

Here's an updated list of freebies and good deals for the upcoming Triple Coupon promotion at Harris Teeter, which starts Wednesday, May 16 and runs through May 22.

After doing a little price checking online and walking the aisles of my local Harris Teeter in Apex to verify sale dates, I discovered lots of sales that continue from last week. I've also added deals from the new sales circular. (My thanks to HotCouponWorld.com for posting the ad early.)

In this most recent update, I've also added numerous unadvertised deals.

All in all, it's shaping up to be a pretty generous promotion with plenty of freebies and items for under $1.

Keep in mind my list is specifically tailored to Triangle shoppers, using Triangle store prices and coupons readily available here, either through newspaper inserts, magazines or Internet printing. No sense getting frustrated looking for a deal we can't get here.

Free soda at Dollar General this week

Dollar General has 2-liter bottles of Sun Drop soda on sale this week for 2/$2.

So it's perfect timing to use two $1/1 coupons from the 5/6 Smart Source.

That adds up to free soda!

Harris Teeter Triple Coupon event likely

It looks like Harris Teeter may be having a Triple Coupon promotion starting next Wednesday, May 16.

That's what the latest buzz is on the national coupon forums.

Database updated with Sunday's coupons

The News & Observer's  coupon database has been updated with all of the new coupons.

This Sunday's home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer contains two inserts -- one Smart Source and one Red Plum -- for a total of 127 coupons with a face value of nearly $175.

And while you're clipping, don't forget the $1 nail polish coupon in the Walmart circular. Since it's a manufacturer's coupon, it can be used anywhere.

For a detailed tutorial on the database, head over HERE to my Coupons 101 section.

Please note: Single-copy and State Edition papers may not contain all coupon inserts.
