REMINDER: Chapel Hill's C'est si Bon! cooking school's most requested class is available again: a chocolate feast based on the Chocolat movie starring Johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche.

This class may be a perfect Valentine's Day date: the class goes from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 14.

The menu includes:

  • Sauteed shrimp in a tomato and garlic sauce with chocolate and chile
  • Local hens roasted with bittersweet chocolate demi-glace
  • Roasted cauliflower with chipotle beurre nosiette
  • Cocoa-dusted chocolate cake with almonds

Learn to cook a gluten-free Thanksgiving

Gluten-free cooking instructor Jules Shepard is teaching a cooking class this Friday at Earth Fare in Brier Creek. Shepard's popular class usually sells out but there are still seats available.

The class is 6-8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, Earth Fare at Brier Creek. Learn how to make dinner rolls, pumpkin pie, and stuffing or dressing, depending upon where you grew up. Plus, enjoy a tasting of gluten-free beer.

The class costs $40 for an individual and $70 for couples in the same household.

Learn to cook Turkish food

There are two Turkish cooking classes coming up at the Turk Evi house in Cary. The dates are:

  • 3-6 p.m. Nov. 7; the menu includes tomato soup, zucchini dip, cheese-filled pastry, lentil kofte and baklava
  • 3-6 p.m. Dec. 5; the menu includes lentil soup, sesame rounds, carrot dip, spinach-filled pastry, chick peas with peppers and tomatoes and kadayif.

The cost is $25 for adults and $15 for students. The Turk Evi house is located at 303 E. Durham Rd., Suite F, Cary.

Learn to cook Latin American street foods

Local cooking instructor Sandra Gutierrez of Sandra's Kitchen Studio is teaching a cooking class on Latin American street food on Tuesday Wednesday, Aug. 24.

The menu includes shucos (hot dogs with the works), arepas con queso, grilled corn with crema and cheese, mango salad with chile and toasted pepitas and churros with chocolate.
