If you're like me, you tend to keep an assortment of power bars and gels scattered about. For instance, I keep at least one in each of my three fanny packs, one each in my two day packs, one in my backpack, two or three in my travel bag for cycling — and periodically they'll turn up in a fleece jacket or pair of convertible hiking pants. Every once in a while, though, I go through and cull the lot of bars that have passed their expiration date. (Nothing worse than starting to bonk only to discover that your salvation is a bar that expired in May 2003.)
Now, in light of the peanut-related recall going on, would be a good time to revisit your stash. Start with your Luna and Clif Bars, several of which are being recalled.
