The wait is finally over. Time Warner Cable is finally adding the Bravo channel.
The cable channel, known for high-profile TV shows such as "Project Runway," "Top Chef," and "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," will start airing Dec. 31 on channel 72 to most Time Warner Cable subscribers in the Triangle. Bravo will be available to subscribers with standard or digital packages.
Time Warner spent years negotiating with Bravo's parent NBC to be able to add the channel to the local cable offerings. Melissa Buscher, a spokeswoman for Time Warner Cable in Raleigh, said it was the number one most requested channel for years.
So, what's moving to make Bravo fit? The Inspiration/EWTN channel, which currently airs on channel 72, will move to channel 194 as part of the digital package.
Cable TV viewers in parts of the area, including Carrboro, already have had Bravo, part of a deal that was grandfathered in when Time Warner Cable took over. Satellite TV viewers have been able to watch Bravo shows on Dish Network and DirecTV.
But now we all have the chance to see those Atlanta housewives act the fool when the rest of the country is watching!
