Cheesemakers to invade Raleigh; here's your chance to taste cheese

The American Cheese Society is holding its annual conference in downtown Raleigh starting tomorrow. The four-day event for artisan cheesemakers and cheese professionals will be held at the Raleigh Convention Center.

However, there are a few opportunities for the cheese loving public:

  • 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday at the Raleigh Downtown Farmers Market, there will be a celebration of local cheese, including tastings and a grilled cheese cook-off. Go HERE for more details.
  • 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday at the convention center, a festival of cheese featuring more than 1,400 cheeses and other gourmet food to taste. Tickets cost $55 each. Go HERE to buy tickets.
  • 11 a.m.- 2 p.m. Sunday at the convention center, all leftover cheese will be available for sale at discounted prices.

We wrote a story earlier about the ACS' event. Go HERE to read it.
