Date set for next Art to Wear fashion show

N.C. State design and textiles students are already making plans for the next Art to Wear fashion show. Next year, it will be held April 14 again at Reynolds Coliseum. And it sounds like there will be some sort of connection/involvement with the reopening of the N.C. Museum of Art.

Check out the photos of Art to Wear

If you missed last night's Art to Wear fashion show at N.C. State, you missed out on an evening of some serious creativity and inspiration. Vansana Nolintha's red and white ball gown, Veronica Tibbitts' plow dress, Amy Quinn's French macaroon and Charlotte Guice's parents bopping down the runway to family favorites from the '70s.

Here are a few ways to see the show or relive a few of your favorite memories.

You can check out our photos from staff photographer Ethan Hyman here.

Art to Wear organizers are selling a DVD of the show here. (There's not a link to the DVD at this point, but stay tuned!)

Also, a reminder than several Cameron Village boutiques will be displaying the collections in store front windows starting May 11.

April 23, 2009: Art to Wear fashion show

Students showcase their designs at N.C. State's Art to Wear fashion show at Reynold's Coliseum on Thursday, April 23, 2009.

Art to Wear collections headed to Cameron Village store front windows

If you're not able to make it to NC State's Art to Wear fashion show tonight (7:30 at Reynolds Coliseum), you might want to make a point of being in and around Cameron Village next month.

Some of the local fashion boutiques have agreed to put the collections on display starting May 11.

Martha Parks, the owner of SoHo Clothing and former Art to Wear juror, has spearheaded the effort. Her store is among those that will show the student's work. Other stores, so far, that will be showing collections are Beanie + Cecil, Certain Things, Fab'rik, Uniquities and Wardrobbe.

Art to Wear: Go for free or reserve a seat

In today's story previewing what's ahead for N.C. State's Art to Wear fashion show, there was a little miscommunication about seating.

Thursday's show is free, however, if you want a reserved seat (highly recommended, btw. this show is going to fill up fast!) you need to make a $10 donation.

Reserve seats here.
