The Amazing Race: Love, mud and broken mirrors

We've seen couples compete on the Race, but now it seems couples are being made. Asian daughter revealed that she's engaged to former Racer Azaria who was on the Race with his sister. Isn't that sweet?

Team Aspie got to the pit stop first and so they're first to head to Tokyo where they'll head to a rotating parking garage and get the next clue.

The teams, being experienced and all, are smart about travel. Most head for a travel agency or computer before they head for the airport. And there are several discussions about whether it's better to hop on the flight to Japan that has a connection through Hong Kong and arrives 15 minutes earlier or take the direct flight.

What to Watch on Sunday: Tonight, we bow to Oscar

Amazing Race: Unfinished Business (8pm, CBS) - The race continues in New South Wales, Australia.

83rd Academy Awards (7pm/8:30pm, ABC) - James Franco and Anne Hathaway (left) host the 83rd annual ceremonies, airing live from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. "The King's Speech" leads with 12 nominations. Go here for links to galleries, live-blogging and live-tweeting, and other Oscar goodies. The actual awards show doesn't begin until 8:30pm, but Red Carpet coverage begins on ABC at 7pm, and on E! and TV Guide Network at 6pm.

Mildred Pierce (8pm, TCM) - If you're not watching the Oscars, watch an Oscar winner. A great classic from 1945 which won Joan Crawford an Academy Award for best actress. HBO's mini-series remake starring Kate Winslet premieres in March. Also, "Annie Hall" airs right after this at 10pm.

Big Love (9pm, HBO) - Bill seizes an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of his marriages, Alby raises the stakes in his quest for power, and Lois is skeptical of Barb's plan for her future.

Shameless (10pm, Showtime) - Frank (William H. Macy) goes on the wagon, pleasing Carl and Debbie. But Lip doesn't believe her father's newfound temperance will keep him off the bottle for long. Meanwhile, Fiona scrambles to find a better-paying job, which leads her to overlook some suspicious behavior at Steve's, and Kev and Veronica open their house to a foster child and get a surprise when they learn her family history.

What to Watch on Sunday: 'Dexter' and 'Amazing Race' finales

Amazing Race (8pm, CBS) - The final three teams race to the finish line to claim the $1 million top prize.

The Simpsons (8pm, Fox) - After Homer is jailed on New Year's Eve for bribery, he agrees to go undercover as an informant against mobster Fat Tony (voiced by Joe Mantegna) to reduce his sentence. Jon Hamm does the voice of the FBI investigator.

Dexter (9pm, Showtime) - In the fifth-season finale, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) smells a trap being set for him and Lumen (Julia Stiles, left) and pulls out all the stops in an effort to avoid getting caught in it. Elsewhere, personal feelings get in the way of Debra's investigation into the Barrel Girls, and Quinn gets in a bind from which only Dexter can extricate him.

Wishful Drinking (9pm, HBO) - Carrie Fisher's autobigraphical stage production chronicles her life in and out of show business as the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds. Here's our review.

Hot in Cleveland (9pm, TV Land) - Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick look back at the best moments (and bloopers) of their inaugural season. They also preview Season 2, which begins in January.

Marry Me (9pm, Lifetime) - In part one of a two-part movie, a social worker (Lucy Liu) with aspirations of a fairy-tale romance is torn between three suitors, all of whom propose to her. Steven Pasquale and Bobby Cannavale also star. Adrienne reviews it.

Sarah Palin's Alaska (9pm, TLC) - Palin takes fellow reality star Kate Gosselin and her brood on a camping trip.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - The Walkers are without their matriarch for Christmas when Nora takes off for a last-minute vacation with Karl. Meanwhile, Saul runs into a former lover (Richard Chamberlain).

What to Watch on Sunday: "Amazing Race" finale

Amazing Race 16 (8pm, CBS) - In the season finale, the final three teams travel from Shanghai to San Francisco where they must scale the Coit Tower and participate in a virtual "Star Wars" battle before racing to the finish line and the $1 million prize. Who's still in it? The models (including Miss South Carolina, left), the detectives, and the cowboys.

Jesse Stone: No Remorse (9pm, CBS) - Tom Selleck stars in his sixth movie about the smalltown New England police chief, Jesse Stone. In this one, Jesse investigates a series of murders in Boston that could be related to a mob boss, while his deputies (Kathy Baker, Kohl Sudduth) probe a crime spree at home in Paradise.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Lynnette learns the truth about the creepy little serial killer she has moved into her house, and Bree tries to pay the creepy little son of her first husband to walk away from her family and her business.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - It looks like Ojai Foods is closing down. For real. Or is it?

Breaking Bad (10pm, AMC) - First, here's my quick review of last week's episode in which Hank was gunned down by the vengeful Mexican hitmen: Holy. @#$*. I'm not kidding. The last three of minutes of the episode was as tense and dramatic as anything I have ever seen. Ever. That's the cousins on the right, and yes, one of them is holding an axe. Tonight, as the family awaits word on Hank's condition, Walt realizes he has reason to fear Gus.

What to Watch on Sunday: Try on "Kirstie Alley's Big Life" for size

NCAA Basketball Tournament (2pm, CBS) - The regional final games from St. Louis and Houston. Full schedule here.

Life (8pm, Discovery) - Mammals are the focus of tonight's 8pm episode of this Oprah Winfrey-narrated series of nature documentaries. Special attention is paid to how mammals care for their young, so Cute Baby Animal Alert. The fish episode airs at 9pm.

Amazing Race (8pm, CBS) - All I know is Jordan and Jeff are gone, so this show makes me sad now.

Undercover Boss (8pm, CBS) - The CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment (think Dollywood) goes undercover tonight to see how his company really works.

Breaking Bad (10pm, AMC) - In the second episode of the season, Walt tries hard to reunite with his family, and Jesse, just out of rehab, makes a big purchase. Also, there's an anxiety-inducing sequence involving those scary Mexican killers. If you've got nails, bite 'em.

Kirstie Alley's Big Life (10pm, A&E) - I like this show a lot more than I expected to. In tonight's back-to-back episodes, Kirstie celebrates a birthday and then tempers flare when the ladies go to a spa. You can catch repeats of last week's two premiere episodes at 5pm today, or following these episodes at 11pm.

The Pacific (9pm, HBO) - The third installment has the 1st Marine Division arriving in Melbourne in January of 1943. Basilone receives The Medal of Honor but is reluctant to embark on his next assignment of selling war bonds back in the U.S.

What to Watch on Sunday: Academy Awards and "Big Love" finale

Amazing Race 16 (8pm, CBS) - The remaining teams fly to Germany and retrace the early days of The Beatles.

Academy Awards Show (8pm, ABC) - The 82nd Annual Academy Awards show actually begins at 8:30, but there's a Red Carpet special beginning at 8 (the E! Red Carpet show will be much better). The Best Picture category could be a David ("Hurt Locker") versus Goliath ("Avatar") showdown. Hosted by Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

Big Love (9pm, HBO) - The finale for season 4 already? Dang, that was a quick season. And up against the Oscars. Good thing HBO replays their stuff over and over and over (and On Demand). Bill is readying himself for the state senate elections, and a scandal out of Kansas makes him reconsider his post-election plan to come clean to the world about his polygamy (Does this mean Margene can keep her TV job?!).

What to Watch on Sunday: Seinfeld's "Marriage Ref" follows Olympics

Winter Olympics (NBC) - Men's hockey, cross country, and curling all go for the gold! The closing ceremony begins at 8pm. Full schedule.

Amazing Race (8pm, CBS) - The nine remaining teams travel from Chile to Argentina, and one member of one team ends up in the emergency room, and another team overestimates their ability to use a compass (please don't be Jordan and Jeff).

Undercover Boss (9pm, CBS) - I skipped the 7-Eleven episode but I think I have to tune in tonight when White Castle CEO Dave Rife goes undercover at his chain restaurants.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Sarah has decided she loves Luc, just as he's about to marry someone else for a green card.

The Marriage Ref (10:30pm, NBC) - It's a special sneak preview of the new Jerry Seinfeld-produced reality show after the Winter Olympics closing ceremony. In the show, real life couples argue about a marital problem in front of a panel of celebrities, and host Tom Papa decides the winner. The panelists on the first show are Seinfeld, Kelly Ripa, and Alec Baldwin.

What to Watch on Sunday: "Amazing Race" has a local favorite

Winter Olympics (NBC) - Today it's speed skating, the luge (maybe), figure skating, and more.

Amazing Race 16 (8pm, CBS) - A new season starts and guess who's competing? Our favorite "Big Brother" contestant ever, Jordan from Charlotte! Jordan actually *won* "Big Brother" last season, and is competing on "Amazing Race" with her sorta (at least at one time) boyfriend Jeff, who was also on "Big Brother." The Jordan and Jeff team are reason enough to watch "Amazing Race," so tune in and cheer them on. Tonight's action begins in Los Angeles and moves to Chile.

The Simpsons (8pm, Fox) - Marge and Homer take up curling and join a team which is involved with Winter Olympic trials. Bob Costas has a cameo as himself.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (9pm, ABC) - Tyler Perry shows up to help build a home for a deserving family from Maryland.

Undercover Boss (9pm, CBS) - We liked the debut of this reality series, with the CEO of Waste Management. Tonight should be even better as the CEO of Hooters goes undercover at some of his restaurants and discovers some pretty heinous abuses of power. Reindeer games? If someone doesn't get fired, I'm never watching this show again.

How to Make it in America (10pm, HBO) - The debut of a new HBO comedy series about a group of entrepreneurs in Brooklyn who hustle their way to prosperity by selling their own brand of designer jeans. It stars Bryan Greenberg (from "October Road") and Victor Rasuk. Think "Entourage." In the first episode, the guys sell knock-off designer leather jackets to pay off a debt.

"The Amazing Race": A finale with results that didn't surprise

That's not to say it wasn't exciting.

In fact, it was pretty close, and at more than one point, it could have been anyone's game.

But I suppose the inevitable is called inevitable because it's inevitable.

What to Watch on Sunday: Amazing Race finale, absurdity on Wisteria Lane

Amazing Race 15 (8pm, ABC) - The final teams cross the finish line in Las Vegas.

Sinatra at Carnegie Hall (8pm, UNC-TV) - Sinatra's 1980 concert includes the "Theme from New York, New York," and "I've Got You Under My Skin."

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - An absolutely absurd plot line has a plane crashing on Wisteria Lane.

Alice (9pm, SyFy) - Part one of a two-part movie retelling "Alice in Wonderland" with a science-fiction twist. "Alice" is a martial arts instructor who witnesses an abduction and tries to intervene.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - It's time for Justin and Rebecca's wedding: will they or won't they?
