Cary mom vs. The Wheel

Melissa Berry of Cary will be a contestant on 'Wheel of Fortune' Tuesday night. She tried out for the show at a Wheelmobile event.

Berry, who is married and has two daughters, says she has been a big 'Wheel' fan for almost 30 years. She hopes to use any winnings to take her family on a nice vacation.

Berry works as an operations specialist for medical crisis cases, and enjoys karaoke, swimming and volunteering.

She told 'Wheel' that she once shaved her head to help raise $20,000 for breast cancer research.

'Wheel of Fortune' airs locally on WTVD at 7:30 p.m.

Another Raleigh resident takes a spin on "The Wheel"

Christy Evans, a sales representative for Muzak in Raleigh, will appear as a contestant on "Wheel of Fortune" Monday night.

When she's not watching Pat Sajack, Christy loves mountain biking, camping, and organizing events for a women’s networking group.

Christy tried out at a Wheelmobile event in Raleigh earlier this year.

She and her husband will watch the show Monday night with friends and family.

"Wheel of Fortune" airs at 7:30pm on WTVD.

Zebulon man gets his chance at "The Wheel"

We've had a lot of local folks on "Wheel of Fortune" lately (Travis Sheets, Nikki Pegues, Dannette McCalmon), and tonight it's Colin Jump's turn at the wheel.

Colin lives in Zebulon, where he's a supervisor at a manufacturing plant. He and his family went out to Los Angeles to tape the show in February. Like Travis, Nikki, and Dannette, Colin won a spot on the show from his audition at the WheelMobile event in downtown Raleigh back in October.

Colin's church is having a viewing party tonight beginning at 7pm.

"Wheel of Fortune" airs on WTVD at 7:30pm.

Raleigh nursing student spins The Wheel

Another local person on "Wheel of Fortune" tonight!

Dannette McCalmon, a nursing student from Raleigh, got picked for the show from her audition last year at the WheelMobile event downtown (just like Travis Sheets and Nikki Pegues).

Dannette will play for cash and prizes on tonight's episode, which airs at 7:30pm on WTVD.

Good luck to her!

Local woman spins the wheel with Sajak

Nikki Pegues, a physical therapist from Raleigh, is going to be busy buying vowels and solving puzzles on tomorrow night's installment of "Wheel of Fortune."

Nikki, shown here with host Pat Sajak, is another local who got a shot on the show by auditioning at a WheelMobile event in Raleigh last year. She is a mother of three who enjoys photography and kickboxing.

Nikki is having a viewing party Wednesday night with family and friends. We hope she won some good stuff!

Nikki's episode of "Wheel of Fortune" airs Wednesday (May 26) on WTVD at 7:30pm.

Raleigh attorney versus "Wheel of Fortune"

It's not quite "Law & Order," but tomorrow night's case of Sheets v. Wheel will feature Raleigh attorney Travis Sheets battling it out for fabulous cash and prizes on Pat Sajak's "Wheel of Fortune."

Sheets, who is originally from Iowa, is a Harvard Law grad who works for the Smith Anderson firm downtown. Sheets tried out for "Wheel of Fortune" at a Wheelmobile event in Raleigh last year.

Tune in to see how he does.

"Wheel of Fortune" airs at 7:30pm on WTVD.
