What to Watch on Monday: Rashad McCants crosses the Kardashians
Submitted by brookecain on 06/15/2009 - 07:30
Keeping up with the Kardashians (8:30pm, E!) - This is a rerun of last season's finale, where Khloe Kardashian finds out that her boyfriend Rashad McCants (that's right -- former UNC basketball player Rashad McCants) is cheating on her bigtime while they are living in different cities, and she dumps him. Need more Rashad and Khloe? Watch Rashad meet the Kardashians and then grocery shop and bake cupcakes with Khloe (which really means they throw batter on each other and lick it off). The Kardashians return to E! in August.
The Closer (9pm, TNT) - First things first: Kitty is alive. Things looked a little dicey for Kitty at the end of last week's episode, but Kitty is alive and receiving medical treatment on tonight's show. Oh yeah, and Brenda looks into the kidnapping of a greedy financier.
Jon & Kate Plus Eight (9pm, TLC) - Another television crossover, another freebie for the Gosselins. The guys from "American Chopper" visit and build custom bikes for Jon and Kate. Will they get eight little sidecars?
Cake Boss (10pm, TLC) - You have to see tonight's cake-hatin' Bridezilla to believe it.

murderer could be on the loose. Golden Globe (and Oscar) winner Anna Paquin stars.
Law & Order: Criminal Intent (9pm, USA) - It's a Jeff Goldblum episode! Wheeler and Nichols investigate the Olympic Site Selection Committee. Don't worry, Goldblum will make that interesting.
In Plain Sight (10pm, USA) - Yet another solid USA show. Mary and Marshall (right), Federal agents who work with the Witness Relocation Program, suspect that a new witness could be involved in a string of murders. Laura Prepon guest stars.

What to Watch on Saturday: Death of 'Pushing Daisies' is a real crime
Submitted by brookecain on 06/13/2009 - 07:30Kings (8pm, NBC) - If anyone is still watching "Kings," Jack and David go to Gath to shore up a peace treaty.
Harper's Island (9pm, ABC) - If anyone is still watching "Harper's Island," the surviving wedding party members discover a series of tunnels on the island and search for Madison.
Pushing Daisies (10pm, ABC) - If anyone is still watching "Pushing Daisies," tonight is the series finale -- which is criminal for a show this fanstastic. In the last installment, titled "Kerplunk," Ned and Olive and Emerson go undercover to solve the murder of a member of a synchronized swimming duo, The Aquadolls (Nora Dunn, Wendy Malick). To help with the case, Vivian and Lily (Ellen Greene and Swoosie Kurtz, above) reunite as the Darling Mermaid Darlings. The episode was filmed before producers knew the show had been cancelled, so don't expect much closure. The episode originally had a huge cliffhanger for the character Chuck (Anna Friel), but was reworked a bit in post production. Still. We're not happy.

Submitted by brookecain on 06/12/2009 - 07:00Goode Family (8:30pm, ABC) - ABC moved this from Wednesdays to Fridays to get that big ratings bump from "Surviving Suburbia" at 8pm (which is not renewed for next season). Masters of Reception (10pm, TLC) - The series opener of a new reality series following Robert and Jerry Frungillo, brothers who have been running a New Jersey wedding/catering company for over 30 years. Managing four separate facilities, the Frungillos can host up to ten weddings a day, so there's potential for lots of drama. The show is produced by Kelly Ripa and Mark Conseulos. And you know the vibe you get watching the Manzo family run The Brownstone on Bravo's "Real Housewives of New Jersey?" Ripa says this is different.
20/20 (10pm, ABC) - Talk about strange bedfellows: "20/20" interviews both Adam Lambert ("American Idol") and Glenn Beck (Fox News) on the same show.

The Closer (9pm, TNT) - The season five premiere is strong, folks. The Major Crimes Division works the gruesome execution style murder of a family, which weighs particularly heavily on Lt. Sanchez. Also, Lt. Provenza is going through a personal crisis (an affair of the heart, it seems), and Kitty is sick. You might want to have a tissue handy -- I cried three separate times.
Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (10pm, Bravo) - Season five finds Kathy "trying out" a life on the A-List and working connections to get a Grammy nomination. Most of the episode centers around the first victim of Kathy's A-List education -- Bette Midler. Midler, who entertains Kathy while doing her big show in Las Vegas, was a pretty good sport even though it often seemed she wanted to be somewhere else (or with someone else).
Weeds (10pm, Showtime) - Season five premiere for "Weeds" also. Nancy ponders her relationship with Mexican crime boss Esteban.
Nurse Jackie ( 10:30pm, Showtime) - A new black comedy starring Edie Falco as a New York City ER nurse with a painkiller addition.

The Tony Awards (8pm, CBS) - Neil Patrick Harris hosts the 63rd annual Tony Awards show. There will be live performances from the nominated musicals, but an even better reason to tune is because NPH is legen ... wait for it ... dary. The play "Billy Elliott" leads with 15 nominations.

Gina Torres guest stars as Penny's no-good mama. David Arquette returns as Randy Mann, romancer of our beloved Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth). Will Ned continue to be jealous of Olive's affection for Randy? We hope so!!
