Duke defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase and tight end Kenny Anunike will miss the rest of spring practice after suffering injuries in practice Wednesday, coach David Cutcliffe announced.
Duke DT to return
Submitted by joegiglio on 12/22/2008 - 18:24Defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase will return to Duke for the 2009 season. Oghobaase, a fourth-year junior, submitted his name to the NFL advisory board but decided to return to the Blue Devils.
"When we arrived here, we set some goals both academically and athletically and we have some unfinished business on the field," Oghobaase said in a statement released by the school. "We want to continue to turn things around for the program and we have a great foundation for success."
Duke went 4-8 in 2008. Oghobaase, the highest-rated recruit signed by former Duke coach Ted Roof, missed his entire freshman season (in 2005) with a knee injury. He has completed his degree work in sociology, according to Duke, and will work on a second degree.
