Citizens of Humanity trunk show at Uniquities

Uniquities will have the latest from Citizens of Humanity during a trunk show that starts today from 5-7 p.m. at the Chapel Hill store on West Franklin Street. The event moves to the Cameron Village store on Saturday from 1-5 p.m. Citizens brand specialist Blair Nance, who is originally from Chapel Hill, will be at both shows to help you find the right pair.

Uniquities' moving sale

To celebrate the reopening of Uniquities store on the Lassiter side of North Hills, all three Uniquities (including Chapel Hill and Cameron Village locations) will have a 20-percent-off sale Tuesday through Thursday. If you are in the market for a new pair of designer denim, this might be a good time to shop. Uniquities is known for its designer denim selection.

Uniquities Mix moving in North Hills

Uniquities Mix is taking over the old Yves Delorme space near Luxe Apothecary on the Lassiter side of North Hills.

Expect a few changes with the new location. Julie Jennings, the owner of Uniquities, said the store will change its name simply to Uniquities. It will still have a few of the more expensive brands but the majority of the focus will be on contemporary fashion, denim, shoes, accessories and Uniquities private label.

Another benefit of being in the new location: Park right in front, shop and then be able to walk to other specialty boutiques!

She said they'll be in the new store on Tuesday.

Military jackets are in at Uniquities

It's hard to believe it's almost time to start thinking about jackets. But I had an e-mail recently from the manager of the Uniquities store in Chapel Hill, Katie Underhill, who had all the scoop on what's hot and new in jackets.

Among them: Military-style jackets, including one from Tory Burch (btw, new to the store for fall) that is quite stunning, quite different. It's a brown leather jacket, aptly called the Sgt. Pepper Jacket (shown here), which sells for $839. According to Underhill, the jacket is chic and on-trend. "It's also very subtle and feminine so you won't feel like you just stepped off a battlefield," she wrote in the e-mail.

Another stunner: A wool military-style peacoat (also by Tory Burch) with gold star buttons on the front and on the sleeves, which are gathered at the shoulders to add a touch of femininity. It's called the Callum (my nephew's name!) and sells for $547.
