Cool TV giveaway: 'Common Law' swag bag

We have such a cool giveaway that I'm actually going to make you work for this one.

The generous folks repping USA Network's new show "Common Law" (you know, the one with Michael Ealy and his eyes) are going to give one of our readers a really cool collection of "Common Law" swag.

The "Common Law" Communication Survival Kit (valued at $155) contains a tote bag filled with Everlast boxing gloves, a POP phone, some Tiebreaker chips (to flip to settle arguments), and a set of Do-It-Yourself Therapy Table Topic cards.

Let us unite, despite our differences, in "The Space Between"

It's been tough watching 9/11 footage and stories; the loss, the horror feels present all over again.

Still, it's worthwhile thinking about that day, if only to help us remember our country's values, and the ways they've been challenged and sustained.

"The Space Between" (9 tonight, USA) is a powerful and beautifully told story of intolerance and discrimination, using the theme of loss to show how much we have in common, despite our differences.

Billy Dee Williams on "White Collar"

According to the website Fancast.com, Billy Dee Williams is heading to USA's "White Collar."

Williams will play an old friend of Diahann Carroll's late husband, showing up fresh out of prison and making Neal (Matt Bomer) suspicious of his motives. Conman birds of a feather and all that.

Maybe he and Neal can have a "suave-off."

Williams is shooting the episode this week.

The show also has John Larroquette appearing soon as a ruthless gambling addict.

Burt Reynolds guest stars on "Burn Notice"

Screen icon Burt Reynolds makes a rare appearance on tonight's episode of "Burn Notice," playing a retired former spy intended to make us ponder the future life of the show's hero, Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan).

The 74-year-old Reynolds, who was treated for an addiction to painkillers and also underwent quintuple bypass surgery earlier this year, looks a little frail, but his Paul Anderson character is apparently tough enough to still be targeted by Russian hitmen.

That's where Michael and Sam (Bruce Campbell) come in. They snatch up the legendary spy, who is now tending bar, and try to get him into government protection.

What to Watch on Tuesday: "Deadliest Catch" says goodbye to Capt. Phil

America's Got Talent (9pm, NBC) - The showcase kicks off in Los Angeles with the first 12 of the 48 contestants taking the stage.

Deadliest Catch (9pm, Discovery) - Grab your tissues because this is the night we say goodbye to Captain Phil Harris, left.

White Collar (9pm, USA) - The second season premiere of "White Collar" has Peter and Neal struggling to stay one step ahead of a sophisticated bank robber wreaking havoc all over the city. But questions persist from last season's finale.

Covert Affairs (10pm, USA) - The newest member of the Characters Family has a strong "Alias" vibe, complete with a female spy (Piper Perabo) who even looks a little like Jennifer Garner. It's thoroughly enjoyable. Read more about it.

The Hills (10pm, MTV) - Adios, trash. Tonight is the series finale of the show that gave the world Heidi and Spencer Pratt.

Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List (10pm, Bravo) - Kathy and her mother Maggie hit Washington for a gay rights rally on the National Mall, hoping to persuade Congress to repeal the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

USA's "Covert Affairs" flaunts its "Alias" vibe

Let the "Alias" comparisons begin.

USA Network's newest member of the Character Family, "Covert Affairs," has such a strong "Alias" vibe that the star, Piper Perabo, even looks and sounds a little like a blonde Jennifer Garner.

Perabo plays Annie Walker, a CIA agent so brand new she wasn't even able to finish her last month of training before being snatched off The Farm by the agency for a special assignment -- a very timely Russian spy caper.

It seems Annie is something of a prodigy with languages (we also learn that she excels at driving and deception) and has a sad romantic backstory that figures prominently in her decision to join the agency.

Get ready to suit up for Season 2 of "White Collar"

USA's "White Collar" returns tonight for its second season, picking up after the explosion that (we assume) took Kate's life in last season's finale.

How is our reformed master criminal Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) coping with losing the love of his life -- again? Surprisingly well.

Naturally, he's obsessed with finding out who killed Kate, but he's also back to working with Peter (Tim DeKay) and the FBI, tracking a sophisticated bank robber wreaking havoc all over the city. And he's still smooth enough to charm a clueless woman out of her SIM card, then ditch her when he's finished with her by casually revealing his turn-off "ex-con" status.

"Lost" star joins USA Network's "Psych"

Nestor Carbonell, who played Richard Alpert on ABC's "Lost," will join "Psych" this season for a multi-episode arc as a criminal profiler who rivals pretend-psychic Shawn (James Roday) both professionally and romantically (Jules, no!).

According to Fancast, Gus (Dule Hill) even dubs the character, "Shawn 2.0."

Ouch.

USA goes to Cuba

USA Network's "Royal Pains" goes to Cuba tonight. Sort of.

The storyline takes Hank Med to Cuba for two episodes to treat their Hamptons benefactor Boris (Campbell Scott, left) when his health takes a turn for the worse, but the episodes were actually shot in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The show's star Mark Feuerstein told TV Guide that the main reason for the locale change was because filming began too early for the Hamptons shoots to look much like summer.

Tom Brokaw travels the US looking for "American Character"

In "American Character," a new USA Network special airing tonight, Tom Brokaw travels Highway 50 from coast to coast talking to regular people with real problems: people about to lose their businesses, people about to lose their jobs, people about to lose their homes, and people about to lose their health insurance.

Did I mention it's not a comedy?
