ATLANTA — When North Carolina returned to Chapel Hill following its 90-57 at Florida State on Jan. 14, Tar Heels coach Roy Williams wrote the number 33 on a board inside the team’s locker room.
ATLANTA — North Carolina and Florida State will meet on Sunday here at Philips Arena in the championship game of the ACC tournament. The Tar Heels will be seeking their 18th tournament championship, and the Seminoles their first.
And, oh yes, UNC is after something else, too: revenge. It was almost two months ago when Florida State embarrassed UNC in Tallahassee. The Seminoles’ 90-57 victory on Jan. 14 was the most lopsided defeat of Roy Williams nine seasons as the Tar Heels’ head coach.
