An Italian company that makes coating machines for gas turbines said today that it would open a new production facility in Catawba County and create 110 jobs over the next five years.
Turbocoating SpA will invest $15 million in a facility in Hickory, 180 miles west of Raleigh. The company develops processes and manufactures protective coatings for components used in Industrial Gas Turbines and Aero engines.
The Hickory facility will help the company serve Siemens’ operations in Charlotte, one of Turbocoating’s major clients.
The company, which is based in Parma, is receiving a $110,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund.
