The Apex boys basketball team will play Panther Creek this Friday at Green Hope High School to determine which team is the higher seed out of the Tri-9 Conference in the state playoffs. The two teams tied the regular season third in the conference standings and are 1-1 in head-to-head meetings.

Game time is 4:30 and the cost is $5.00. Apex will be the visiting team for this game.

Wednesday's semifinals of the Tri-Nine Conference boys and girls basketball tournament are set after a wild night in which half of the eight games were won by lower seeds. Lee County athletics director Steve Womack confirmed that there will be no 8-versus-9 game in the Tri-Nine Conference tournament. Last year, the conference's first under new realignment, the league played a Monday "play-in" game held at one site between the bottom two seeds in both boys and girls basketball.
