Shawn Sidbury, one of the top high school football players in the state, helped  lead Wilmington Hoggard to the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4-A football championship in 2007, but has returned to Hampstead Topsail High this fall.

Sidbury played at Topsail as a freshman.

He was the MVP of the 4A championship game and rushed for 1,600 yards during the season. He also is an outstanding defensive back.

Hoggard finished with a 15-0 record. Topsail was 8-4 in 2007.
