What to Watch on Wednesday: Olivia suspected of murder on L&O:SVU

New Adventures of Old Christine (8pm, CBS) - Jennifer Grey guest stars to date Richard, who is played by Clark Gregg and who is Grey's husband in real life. Confused? Dave Foley is back as Richard's friend who keeps trying to date Christine.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Shuster divides the glee club into couples for a ballad, which is great till someone gets sick. Another bad idea: Finn has dinner with Quinn's parents.

Law & Order: SVU (9pm, NBC) - DNA evidence identifies Benson (Mariska Hargitay) as the prime suspect in the murder of a biker gang dude. While Munch and Finn investigate the case, Stabler (Chris Meloni) works to prove her innocence.

Top Chef (10pm, Bravo) - The remaining chefs take part in an extremely difficult cooking contest established by French chef Paul Bocuse. Bocuse's son Jerome, who is also a chef, serves as a guest judge along with Thomas Keller. A lot of other famous chefs also appear. Whatever -- we just want to see if this is the night Jen has her breakdown and what kind of assy thing Mike Volt says about our Kevin.

Also worth mentioning: Robin Roberts interviews Janet Jackson tonight at 10pm on ABC, Noelle Marsh of Sanford continues to shine on So You Think You Can Dance (8pm, Fox) and Modern Family (9pm, ABC) is always funny.

Win a "Top Chef" DVD!!!

As we near the "Top Chef" finale and reflect on this season's wealth of strong personalities (aka "crazy people"), we're thinking how much we'd love to see some of the soapy drama going on behind the scenes in Las Vegas.

You can help us fantasize by sending your own plot summary for a Lifetime-style movie starring the angry, competitive Voltaggio Brothers, the verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown Jen, the much-despised motormouth Robin (always in our hearts!), and Kevin the kindly king of pork.

You can even throw in Padma and Tom if you like.

Top Chef: caramel apple peanut soup sounds disgusting... and it is

Before I recap this week's episode, I must offer a confession: Top Chef is making me fat.

It's not difficult to figure out why: watching a show about delicious food is akin to fast-food commercials - external hunger pangs trigger immediately, and within a few minutes (seconds), I'm craving all sorts of culinary delights I can't even begin to pronounce. There's all sorts of science behind this.

Last night got out of hand, though. After having dinner around Glee-time (I was trying to take preventative measures by stuffing myself before the show), I lost my willpower right about when I saw Padma and guest judge/food vixen Nigella Lawson indulging in breakfast while wearing plush white robes in a hotel room. So I ordered pizza. Just for me. Heinous. I didn't eat the whole thing, mind you, but the fact that I can't even be trusted enough to watch a television show when I'm full without ordering food is something that concerns me. Perhaps I'm not the only one out there with this problem.

What to Watch on Wednesday: CMA's big night and Glee returns

43rd Annual CMA Awards (8pm, ABC) - Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley (left) host. Performances by the hosts as well as Kid Rock, Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw ... basically anyone who is anyone in country music will be there. Something to watch for: Vince Gill is scheduled to sing a duet with the band Daughtry.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Glee returns with a terrific episode in which Kurt competes against Rachel in a diva-off to see who gets to perform "Defying Gravity." Meanwhile, when the school can't pay for a wheelchair-accessible bus for Artie for a trip to regionals, Shuster challenges the glee club to raise the money. Quinn's pregnancy causes a money crunch for her also, so she pressures Finn to help out with the bills. And Sue must hold open tryouts for the Cheerios squad. Oh how the mighty fall...

Return to Duty (9pm, MTV) - Don't forget the documentary special on "Real World: Brooklyn" alum Ryan Conklin's second tour of duty in Iraq.

Top Chef: Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo) - Nigella Lawson is the guest judge tonight, as the six remaining contestants must create a hotel-themed breakfast-in-bed dish.

What to Watch on Wednesday: A wolfman and a vegetarian

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - This is arguably the funniest sitcom on television right now, and if you're not watching it, you should be. Tonight, new parents Cameron and Mitchell have a major freakout over Lily's minor accident, and Jay and Gloria disagree about Manny's outfit for school.

Law & Order: SVU (9pm, NBC) - There's no "Glee" tonight because of the World Series (game 1 starts at 7:30pm on Fox) so we don't have to wait till Saturday to watch Benson and Stabler battle with the FBI over a murder victim linked to a Mexican drug cartel. Bonus: Vincent Spano returns as FBI special agent Porter.

The Real Wolfman (9pm, History) - Scientists use modern forensics to explore stories of a wolfman who was said to terrorize a French town in the 18th century.

Friday Night Lights (9pm, DirecTV) - Peter Berg's critically-acclaimed drama returns for its fourth season tonight, but only if you have DirecTV

Top Chef: Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo) - The good news: the chefs get to prepare a meal for and be judged by celebrity Natalie Portman. The bad news: Natalie Portman is a vegetarian. And brother, she means it. Sorry, Kevin. You won't be cooking pork belly tonight.

What to Watch on Wednesday: Glee shows the softer side of Sue

New Adventures of Old Christine (8pm, CBS) - Eric McCormack (left) hasn't been able to make a go of a new show for himself since the end of "Will & Grace," but he's staying busy lately with strong guest spots on other shows (and we're hoping he has better luck with his "Tad Quill" pilot on ABC). Tonight he plays a therapist sharing office space with Matthew, and he starts up a romance with Christine.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC)
- Family barbecue at Jay and Gloria's! Drama du jour is courtesy of Manny and Luke, who  rehash an incident at school, which leads to someone being called a "coal digger."

Glee (9pm, FOX)
- Fox promises we will see the "softer side of Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)" tonight, which is just a little bit terrifying.

Top Chef: Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo)
- Here we go with "Top Chef's" oldie but goodie, "Restaurant Wars Challenge." Will the gang finally kill and devour their weakest link (aka "Big 'R' little 'obin'")? And can't we just fast forward to the part where it's Bryan and Michael and Kevin in the final three? Because I think by this point, we all know that's where this show is going (although, Bryan better keep his eye on Jen).

What to Watch on Wednesday: Mario Lopez returns to Nip/Tuck

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Now that Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch, right) is
co-director of the glee club, she immediately begins working to tear
the group apart from the inside. When the competition in the club gets
too heated, Sue and Will get called into Principal Figgins' office. Meanwhile, the members rally around Quinn and offer her their support.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Shelley Long ("Cheers") guest stars as Jay's ex-wife, who shows up unexpectedly to make amends for an unfortunate incident at Jay and Gloria's wedding.

Nip/Tuck (10pm, FX) - I guess in an economic downturn, boob jobs and tummy tucks get put on the back burner. That's why things aren't great at McNamara/Troy, and also why it's a good thing Dr. Mike Hamoui (Mario Lopez) has returned to LA with a very profitable niche specialty. I'm not sure exactly what that might be, but the photo at left (yes, it's from "Nip/Tuck") is  intriguing. Tonight is the season 6 premiere.

Top Chef Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo) - Tonight's theme involves "pork and wine." I'm going to go ahead and place my money on Kevin from Atlanta on acing this one.

Triangle cooks: "Top Chef" casting call is just a short road trip away!

Bravo has just announced nationwide casting calls for the new season of their hit show, "Top Chef."

The closest location to us is Washington, DC, which isn't far at all. We've got so many great chefs and aspiring chefs in the triangle, surely someone here will try out for the show. (If you do, let us know!!!).

The Washington casting call is November 4 at  Occidental Grill & Seafood at the Willard InterContinental Hotel.

Here's the full information from Bravo.

Good luck, chefs!

What to Watch on Wednesday: Behold the Top Chef antihero

Leverage (9pm, TNT) - TNT ordered two extra episodes of this drama for their summer season, so you'll get your "Leverage" fix until September 9. Griffin Dunne and Will Wheaton guest star tonight and the episode is directed by Dean Devlin, the show's producer.

Criss Angel: Mindfreak (10pm, A&E) - Criss Angel tries to raise an entire crowd in a mass levitation in Las Vegas, plus he'll raise you right at home. Through the TV. Right off the ground.

Top Chef: Las Vegas (10pm, Bravo) - It's too early to pick a clear favorite, but last week's premiere was enough to tell us that we are definitely not pulling for Michael Isabella (right), an obnoxious Jersey boy working out of D.C.  Self-confidence is not a problem for this guy, but chauvinism is. The show has some extremely talented (and interesting) chefs this season, including competing brothers from Maryland and Ron Duprat, who spent 27 days at sea traveling from Haiti to the U.S. Last week, Ron didn't seem to understand the meaning of the word "vice," but he cooks a mean sea bass. Tonight, the men are pitted against the women, as the groups vie to cater a poolside bachelor-and-bachelorette party. Chef Todd English is the guest judge.
