The Office recap: Limos are for closers

There's a great line by Michael Scott at the end of Thursday night's episode, as he, Oscar, Andy and Dwight are sprinting out of the Dunder-Mifflin shareholders' meeting to steal a limo from a company executive.

Anyone who has suffered through this recession working for — or getting laid off by — a company top-heavy with senior management and short on survival strategies had to cheer Michael's explanation for claiming a fat cat's ride back to Scranton.

What to Watch on Thursday: Kim Raver joins "Grey's Anatomy"

Vampire Diaries (8pm, CW) - Damon tells Stefan the real reason why he returned to Mystic Falls. Stefan is stunned, so I'm assuming it has something to do with Virginia tourism.

Community (8pm, NBC) - I'm still singing last week's awesome "Gettin' Rid of Britta" in my head and hoping for another classic moment tonight. Sounds promising: Abed's films seem to predict the future, and Pierce (Chevy Chase) tries to help Britta quit smoking.

The Office (9pm, NBC) - Another episode about office rumors???

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - Kim Raver ("24" "Lipstick Jungle") joins Seattle Grace as an Iraq war veteran who also happens to be a cardiothoracic surgeon. Also, Izzie returns with her high school mentor (Joel Grey), who is seeking treatment for dementia.

Project Runway (10pm, Lifetime) - Tonight is part one of a two-part season finale. The final three designers prepare for a Bryant Park Runway Show under the watchful eye of mentor Tim Gunn

The Office: Michael catches, releases Pam's mom

Lamest episode of "The Office" ever? It hasn't been brought to a vote by the Happiness is a Warm TV blog's high tribunal, but consider yourselves on notice, Office writers.

Your once great show has devolved into the weak link in NBC's Thursday night comedy lineup, fourth behind an inconsistent 'Community' show that would have you believe community colleges have dorms on campus for international students.

Thursday night's episode wraps up Michael's ill-fated relationship with Pam's mom.

Sterling Mifflin on a Sugar high: If Mad Men met The Office

The BuzzSugar blog sussed out an interesting premise this week: What if the high stakes 1960s world of New York advertising collided with the general buffoonery of a Scranton paper company?

The blog broke it down character-by-character (for example Kelly = Joan, Meredith = Duck, etc.), and discovers that the workplaces are eerily similar.

Don't buy it? Take a look for yourself

"The Office" airs on Thursday nights at 9pm on NBC; the "Mad Men" third season finale is this Sunday night at 10pm on AMC.

What to Watch on Thursday: Strong guest stars on NBC sitcoms

Parks & Recreation (8:30pm, NBC) - Megan Mullally guest stars as Ron's ex-wife Tammy, who runs the local library and wants to take over Leslie's lot (formerly known as "Leslie's pit").

The Office (9pm, NBC) - Jim and Pam are forced to double-date with Michael and his new girlfriend, who just happens to be Pam's mom. I guess this is what Michael meant when he said a few weeks ago that he planned to "date her even harder."

30 Rock (9:30pm, NBC) - I hate to dwell on NBC, but really, how often do we get a chance to do that? Brian Williams has a guest cameo tonight, and that dude is flat-out funny. Okay, I'm stopping with this and promise not to promote "whatever" is in the NBC 10pm slot.

The Last One (10pm, UNC-TV) - This is a treat. It's local filmmaker Neal Hutcheson's Emmy-winning documentary on Popcorn Sutton, an Appalachian moonshiner who went into the mountains to make one last batch of liquor and let Neal come along to film. If you haven't seen this yet, you should definitely tune in. Sadly, Popcorn passed away earlier this year

Real Housewives of Orange County (10pm, Bravo) - It kills me to write this, but Adrienne watched the first episode and said it's pretty good. Apparently these women actually address the "controversies" going on since the end of last season (such as losing  homes and husbands) instead of denying and fighting about it (yes, Atlanta, we're looking at you).

Scranton's new singing sensation

Don't start your weekend without watching Kelly Kapoor and Erin Hannon star in their first music video, "Male Prima Donna."

The Office characters have started their own female musical duo, Subtle Sexuality, with the help of Nard-Dog (Andy) and Mr. Understood (Ryan). The first song, clearly about a certain office temp with a skinny tie, is catchy and Auto-tuned enough to be a bona fide top 40 hit.

The group's website has a link to the video, the Mindy Kaling-directed webisodes behind the group and the complete lyrics.

So, get on board. "You're a male prima donna / But I can't help but want 'cha / I'm an independent diva /But I still kinda need ya..." is the new "If you liked it then you shoulda put a ring on it..."

The Office recap: Michael realizes he's a loser. Again.

Pity the costumed children of the Scranton Industrial Park Community who had to settle for a Halloween tour of what Michael Scott tried to convince them was the spookiest warehouse in the world.

Little did they know that Michael's "[Junk] in a Box" homage to Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake's classic Saturday Night Live video would be the highlight of Thursday's tepid episode of The Office. At least the kids got off easy with a ride on Darryl the Gangsta Pumpkin's pallet truck of doom.

Maybe they were scarred for life by Michael, giftwrapped box affixed to his crotch, swinging from a noose and reminding them that suicide is never the answer, but at least they got to go home. The rest of us were stuck enduring the rest of an episode that plunged into Yawnville after that promising opening.

What to Watch on Thursday: Real Heifers of Atlanta finale

Community (8pm, NBC) - Jeff has an ulterior motive for urging Troy to join the school's football team, but Annie interferes. Whatever. Just please give me some more Señor Chang (right).

The Office (9pm, NBC) - Jim and Pam return from their honeymoon only to learn that Michael is now dating Pam's mom. As you might expect, Pam isn't exactly thrilled about the news.

The Jeff Dunham Show (9pm, Comedy Central) - A new show from the comic puppeteer Jeff Dunham. The review in "The Hollywood Reporter" says it best: "You'll be the dummy if you tune in." It's up to you, but you've been warned.

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - A burn victim dies unexpectedly in the ER and the chief has to find out which resident is responsible.

Real Housewives of Atlanta (10pm, Bravo) - "Is your wig squeezing your brain too tight, heifer?" "I'm supposed to forget that you choked me?" No, no, that's not a scene from "Masterpiece Theatre." That, my friends, is the season finale of "Real Housewives of Atlanta" calling.

The Office recap: Jim and Pam's wedding

Few ceremonies are more tradition-laden than a wedding, so there was some concern that Jim and Pam's ceremony couldn't possibly live up to the expectations of the demanding protocol. Reviewing my checklist from last night's hour-long episode, however, it looks like The Office managed to cover all the essentials of a memorable wedding.

Inappropriate toasts at the rehearsal dinner? Check. Judgmental relatives? Check.
Relatives ignoring your "Do Not Play" music list? Check. A wedding guest tearing asunder his man parts during an ill-advised attempt at doing the splits? Double check.

What to Watch on Thursday: Jim and Pam finally tie the knot

FlashForward (8pm, ABC) - Mark and Janis meet an imprisoned Nazi who claims to have knowledge about the blackout.

The Office (9pm, NBC) - It's the TV wedding of the decade, and you better believe Jim and Pam won't be getting married via post-it notes. The cutest couple in primetime gets hitched tonight in a special one-hour episode of "The Office," and the entire gang travels to Niagra Falls to witness the blessed event. Which begs the question, who will ruin the big day? Will it be Michael and his pathological need to insinuate himself into any big moment (remember Phyllis's wedding to Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration?). Or will it be Andy and Dwight's tireless attempts to score with the single ladies in attendance? Nope. Word is, Jim takes care of screwing things up all on his own. You must tune in to find out how.

Real Housewives of Atlanta (10pm, Bravo) - NeNe plans a high-heel marathon for her foundation and Kandi travels to LA to discuss a potential record deal. It'll be interesting to see if Bravo acknowledges the sudden death of Kandi's fiance AJ this past weekend
