Today begins our holiday giveaway extravaganza in which we unload much of what we've gathered because we want you to keep watching TV.

And so, we offer the complete third season DVD of "The Mentalist," the hit Simon Baker-led CBS show. This is the season with the Red John arc; that's the serial killer who killed Patrick Jane's family.

Special features include an expert panel of 'world-class' criminologists devising a profile of Red John and taking us into his mind. And the "Red Moon" episode directed by Baker, giving his perspective from both sides of the camera. Plus there are unaired scenes!

1,022 minutes of TV watching! Just send an email by 9 p.m. tonight (12/6) and we'll have a random drawing.

What to Watch on Thursday: A strong premiere night on NBC

Charlie's Angels (8pm, ABC) - A remake of the 1970s hit show starring Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh, and Rachael Taylor. I'm not a fan. You're better served watching "Community." Or "Big Bang Theory." Or "The X-Factor." Or anything else.

Community (8pm, NBC) - In the Season 3 premiere, the study group wonder if Pierce will join them as they gather at the start of a new semester. Also, Jeff clashes with his biology teacher (Michael K. Williams, "The Wire," "Boardwalk Empire") and is kicked out of class, and Dean Pelton has a new nemesis at Greendale -- John Goodman.

Big Bang Theory (8pm, CBS) - Two new back-to-back episodes open the fifth season. First, Penny hits a low point when she realizes what she's done by sleeping with Raj, and Sheldon becomes leader of the paintball team. Later, Penny and Sheldon clash and Amy is caught in the middle.

Parks and Recreation (8:30pm, NBC) - Leslie is faced with the difficult decision when she decides to run for office in the Season 4 opener. Meanwhile, Ron prepares for the return of his first wife (Patricia Clarkson).

Person of Interest (9pm, CBS) - A new drama following a presumed-dead CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) and a billionaire software genius (Michael Emerson) who try to stop crimes before they happen. Adrienne likes it. Read more.

The Office (9pm, NBC) - In the Season 8 premiere, the staffers discover their names on a mysterious list authored by new Sabre CEO, played by James Spader (right). Paranoia sweeps through the office as everyone speculates about what the list means.

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - Meredith is fired in tonight's two-hour Season 8 premiere. I have nothing against "Grey's," but there's better stuff on.

Whitney (9:30pm, NBC) - A new sitcom about about unmarried couple Whitney (Whitney Cummings) and Alex (Chris D'Elia). Is it funny? Adrienne says ...

Prime Suspect (10pm, NBC) - A new series about a NYC homicide detective (Maria Bello) coping with sexism and harassment from colleauges while working murder cases. Also stars Aidan Quinn. It's a remake of Helen Mirren's classic PBS series, but it's quite good. I think you should watch.

The Mentalist (10pm, CBS) - In the fourth season opener, Jane is in prison and must prove that the man he killed was Red John. Lisbon wants Van Pelt to get counseling for having to shoot her fiance when it was discovered he was Red John's inside man. So that Red John thing is over, right?

What to Watch on Thursday: Parade of stars recruited for 'Office' finale

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Hold your breath, McCreerians: Someone goes home tonight. But first, performances from Il Volo, Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent.

Parks and Recreation (10pm, NBC) - Two new episodes tonight mark the end of Season 3. In the final episode, Leslie organizes a memorial service or a dearly departed friend and Chris deals with a health problem.

Private Practice (10pm, ABC) - Season 4 ends with Oceanside Wellness facing an existential crisis as a result of its vulnerabilities. Whatever that means. More importantly, Addison has a new admirer, how is played by Benjamin Bratt.

What to Watch on Thursday: Two will exit 'Idol'

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Casey's dramatic "save" last week means not one but two contestants will be voted off tonight. Is Scotty McCreery safe?? Also, Fantasia, will.i.am, and Jamie Foxx perform live.

The Big Bang Theory (8pm, CBS) - The guys become sleuths to find out who hacked Sheldon's online game account.

Perfect Couples (8:30, NBC) - Vance befriends Amy's exes and ends up worried that he may someday join their ranks. Also, Rex wants a peek at Leigh's ex files. I think there's only one more episode of this show after tonight, which is a real shame.

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - It's the episode we've all been dreading. It's 'Grey's Anatomy: The Musical.' I wish I was kidding.

Mobbed (9pm, Fox) - Howie Mandell hosts a show in which unsuspecting people are greeted by flash mobs during special occasions, such as a wedding proposal, a pregnancy, and a hiring.

The Mentalist (10pm, CBS) - A man who believed he had been abducted by aliens at one time is found murdered and his body is stolen from the coroner's van.

What to Watch on Thursday: A stop-motion "Community" Christmas

The Santa Incident (8pm, Hallmark) - In a new Hallmark movie, Santa's sleigh is shot down by Homeland Security and a nurse (Ione Skye) takes in Santa (James Cosmo) while he recovers from the fall and deals with the FBI.

Community (8pm, NBC) - Abed goes on a quest to find the real meaning of Christmas after he awakens in stop-motion animation. Jeff and Britta, worried about Abed's mental state, seek help from Professor Duncan. The whole group eventually undergo hypnosis to join Abed in his world.

The Office (9pm, NBC) - It's a Christmas miracle for Michael when his office nemesis, Toby, takes a leave of absence and his lost love Holly (Amy Ryan) returns to Scranton to fill in. Also, Jim and Dwight have a snowball fight.

Barbara Walters: Oprah, the Next Chapter (9pm, ABC) - Oprah Winfrey reviews the last 25 years of her life, both personally and professionally, in an interview taped at her home and at Harpo Studios in Chicago. Oprah also discusses her new OWN network and then Barbara makes her cry.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - A case of a person having his heart removed sets of a sting of bizarre events.

Mentalist (10pm, CBS) - A Santa is murdered (that's a Santa, not the Santa) and the team investigates a Santa society while Jane goes undercover in an Alcoholics Anonymous group.

Also on tonight: Caroline helps Tyler prepare for his first werewolf transformation on 'Vampire Diaries' (8pm, CW), Jack's parents (Elaine Stritch, Alan Alda) visit for Christmas on '30 Rock' (8:30pm, NBC), and 'The Apprentice' (10pm, NBC) ends its dreadful season.

What to Watch on Thursday: Tried and true lineup changes little

Big Bang Theory (8pm, CBS) - For Season 4, "Big Bang Theory" moves to a new night and new time (formerly Monday nights at 9pm) where it goes up against "Community." Yikes (for both shows). Tonight, Sheldon goes on his first date ever and it's with Amy Fowler (Mayim Bialik). Somehow, Penny finds herself accompanying them.

Community (8pm, NBC) - In the Season 2 opener, the group reconvene to study for their anthropology class, which is taught by a kooky professor (Betty White, of course). Meanwhile, Senor Chang enrolls at Greendale in hopes of joining the study group.

Bones (8pm, Fox) - Season 6 begins seven months after last season's finale when the Jeffersonian team disbanded. They are called by to Washington when a case involving a case involving the body of an unidentified young boy could cost Cam her job.

My Generation (8pm, ABC) - A contrived new series from ABC in which a film crew revisits a group of high school students in Texas who were the subjects of a documentary style reality show ten years earlier. I urge you not to waste your time.

30 Rock (8:30pm, NBC) - Season 5 has Jack interfering with Liz's blooming romance with Carol (Matt Damon) in an effort to help her finally win a man's heart, and Tracy copes with Kenneth's termination as NBC page.

$#*! My Dad Says (8:30, CBS) - This new show (pronounced "Bleep My Dad Says") is based on a popular Twitter feed chronicling the outrageous observations of one guy's dad. It's a flimsy premise, even if it does star William Shatner. Check out our review.

What to Watch on Thursday: Matt Damon on "30 Rock" finale

Bones (8pm, Fox) - In the fifth season finale, the death of a hoarder has the team sifting through the man's many possessions looking for clues. Angela gets a visit from her father, ZZ Top guitarist Billy F. Gibbons (left, as himself).

Community (8pm, NBC) - The Season 1 finale has Britta and Professor Slater vying for Jeff's affection. Also, when Abed doesn't ask Troy to be his roommate, Troy is left pondering their friendship. I'm sure Abed based the decision on some random classic sitcom trope.

Parks & Recreation (8:30pm, NBC) - Leslie wants to hold a children's concert in this Season 2 finale, but the visiting state accountant Adam gets in the way. Rob Lowe guest stars (R.I.P. Robert from "Brothers & Sisters").

Grey's Anatomy (9pm, ABC) - The hospital is under siege from a gunman in tonight's two-hour season finale. Expect lots of drama and some big news from Meredith.

Keep reading for more big finale news ...
