American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Harry Connick Jr is on hand to mentor the remaining contestants as they attempt the Frank Sinatra songbook.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is embarrassed when a video of her performing "Let's Get Physical" circulates. Besides "Physical," the cast will perform "Ice Ice Baby," "U Can't Touch This," "Run Joey Run," and "Total Eclipse of the Heart." Molly Shannon ("Saturday Night Live") Olivia Newton-John.

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) - Last week Alicia finally got fed up with Peter and walked out on him meet up with Will. Tonight, when Peter chases after her, his home monitor goes off and he risks going back to prison.

Justified (10pm, FX) - Raylan is called upon to defuse a prison hostage crisis.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Kristin Chenoweth returns to "Glee"

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC)Melissa Etheridge sings two songs in an elimination episode which we hope sends homes the annoying "Bachelor" Jake.

NOVA: Mind Over Money (8pm, UNC-TV) - If you've got your mind on your money and your money on your mind, Nova can tell you why. It seems the brain actually misfires and makes us irrational when money is involved. A fascinating look at behavioral economics.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Kristin Chenoweth returns as April Rhodes, to help Will save the glee club, while Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) puts her Cheerios (mostly Mercedes) on  a diet. Also, Kurt fixes his dad up on a date, hoping for a more normal family life.

Frontline: The Vaccine Wars (9pm, UNC-TV) -  A look at the controversy surrounding the vaccine regimen children face, including alleged links between vaccines and ADHD and Autism. A second episode of Frontline airs at 10pm ("The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan") looking at the practice of using adolescent boys for entertainment and sex by former warlords and businessmen.

The Good Wife (CBS, 10pm) - Alicia goes up against her former boss Jonas Stern, and considers using her knowledge of his dementia against him. Peter finds religion because, you know, it'll help with his appeal.

What to Watch on Tuesday: How to watch six great shows, all on at 10pm

NCIS: LA (8pm, CBS) - There's a mixed martial arts storyline tonight, so lots of MMA fighters (right) have cameos: Dan Henderson, Frank Shamrock, Gilbert Melendez, Josh Thomson, K.J. Noons, Cung Le.

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - It's elimination night and guest Reba McIntyre sings two songs, and DWTS pro Mark Ballas performs an acoustic Paso Doble arrangement on guitar.

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - The finalists perform songs of John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Not sure if that means solo songs or if Beatles music will get butchered, too.

The really good stuff comes on at 10pm. Keep reading ...

What to Watch on Tuesday: "Good Wife" one of many good choices tonight

If you're a really good TV drama, you probably come on Tuesday nights at 10pm...

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) -  An emergency courtroom is set up inside a hospital, where Alicia and Will try to force an insurance company to pay for life-saving in-utero surgery. And speaking of Alicia and Will, CBS promos indicate there could be a little smoochy-smoochy tonight.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Max gets kicked out of school so Peter and Kristina have to consider other options for him. Sarah breaks up with Jim but then needs his help when she has car trouble, and Crosby spends more time with Jabbar.

Justified (10pm, FX) - In the premiere of an excellent new FX drama based on stories by Elmore Leonard, US Marshall Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) returns home to Kentucky and gets a case that pits him against an old childhood friend who has gone bad. Check out our review. Repeats on FX again at 11:11pm and 1:22am.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - Ben goes on his first solo patrol and has to track down a missing girl, and Chickie works on being a better cop. Repeats on TNT again at 1am.

Also, "FlashForward" has a recap of their first ten episodes to refresh you for the show's return on Thursday (10pm, ABC) and contestants mangle Rolling Stones songs on "American Idol" (8pm, Fox).

What to Watch on Tuesday: "White Collar" finale

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - The show is down to a more manageable 1-hour tonight, as the eight remaining female contestants perform.

Lost (9pm, ABC) - Sounds like a Ben-centric episode tonight.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Adam and Kristina deal with the news that their son has Asperger's syndrome, and Crosby gets to know his new son.

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) -  While Alicia and Will defend an attorney for murder, they must also deal with tabloid rumors that Alicia is sleeping with Will to further her career.

White Collar (10pm, USA) - In the first season finale, Alex and Neal pair up to go after the elusive music box at the Italian Embassy -- even though Peter told Neal last week that if he went after the music box, he'd send him back to prison. Neal's buddy Mozzie (Willie Garson at right with Matt Bomer) has quickly become my favorite character on the show. Also, is it too much to ask that in Season 2 we put this whole "search for Kate" mess behind us?

Southland (10pm, TNT) - One of last week's most moving scenes involved Lydia's realization that Tom isn't coming back to work. Tonight she'll continue adjusting to her cocky new partner, as they investigate a gruesome triple homicide that highlights their different approaches to the job.

Note: 10pm is pretty crowded with good dramas on Tuesday nights, so if you dvr or TiVo, remember that "White Collar" and "Southland" both repeat at 1am. And right now, NBC has "Parenthood" scheduled to repeat at 8pm on Saturday (March 13). Next week there's no "White Collar" so the pressure eases a bit.

What to Watch on Tuesday: "Parenthood," "Southland" cause ten o'clock meltdown

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Especially after the critical flop of Jerry Seinfeld's "Marriage Ref" on Sunday, "Parenthood" is NBC's great hope for a new 10pm hit. The one-hour comedy-drama based on Ron Howard's 1989 movie stars Lauren Graham (beloved Lorelai Gilmore of the beloved "Gilmore Girls"), Peter Krause ("Six Feet Under"), and Craig T. Nelson ("Coach"). In the pilot, Graham's character uproots her kids to move back in with her parents, played by Nelson and Bonnie Bedalia. The show originally cast Maura Tierney in Graham's role, but Tierney had to withdraw from the show to undergo treatment for cancer.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - A look back at the early careers of 2010 Oscar nominees featuring folks who know them well. Nick Clooney talks about his son, George, and Beau Bridges and Cybill Shepherd talk about Jeff Bridges. Also profiled, Mo'nique and Woody Harrellson.

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) - Alicia and the kids try to adjust to Peter back to living at home and working on his comeback with his political team. With guest stars Alan Cumming and Gary Cole.

White Collar (10pm, USA) -  Neal volunteers to help search for a missing girl, only to learn the abductor is an old rival using the girl to lure him into a trap. Diane Neal ("Law & Order: SVU") guest stars.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - The second season of the gritty cop drama cancelled by NBC and picked up by TNT opens with the search for a senior citizen kidnapped by a drug addict. Lydia (Regina King, right) and Chickie both have new partners.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Ellen begins work on "American Idol"

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - The auditions are over and the real show finally begins. The lucky contestants arrive in Hollywood to begin grueling rehearsals, and Ellen Degeneres joins the team as the fourth judge. There have already been rumors that she and Simon Cowell are clashing. Boy, I hope that probably-totally-true-rumor doesn't hurt the show's ratings (eye roll).

Lost (9pm, ABC) - Kate is on the run and Jack must do something that will jeopardize a friend.

Past Life (9pm, Fox) - A new series in which people who are haunted by "past-life" events are helped by a psychologist and an ex-police detective played by Nicholas Bishop (right). The first episode involves a teenager who is troubled by memories of an abduction and murder which took place before his birth. To solve the case, the detective must first figure out who the teen was in his past life. Hey, anyone remember "The Reincarnation of Peter Proud?"

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) - Alicia must defend a man accused of murdering a babysitter while she and the family await the results of Peter's appeals hearing.

The Jay Leno Show (10pm, NBC) - The good news is this is the last episode of NBC's awful primetime Jay Leno experiment. The bad news is, well, we all know what that is

What to Watch on Tuesday: In a word? Lost.

Lost (8pm, ABC) - Your "Lost" night begins with a much-needed series recap at 8pm, and then the good stuff starts at 9. The final season's first episode begins in the aftermath of the H-bomb detonation, as the survivors learn "when" they are from. Boone (Ian Somerhalder) makes an appearance. Your homework before the big premiere is to read our "Lost Countdown" posts for a recap of the six storylines we hope get some resolution this season.

Frontline (9pm, UNC-TV) - A look at how the internet and digital technology have changed the way we work, learn, and interact, including a look at multitasking and its negative impact on attention spans.

The Good Wife (10pm, CBS) - Peter's trial begins, and Diane (Christine Baranski) begins carrying a handgun when a felon she prosecuted is released from prison.

How to watch CBS shows pre-empted by tonight's State-Carolina game

WRAL will show the State-Carolina basketball game tonight at 9pm, which means a new episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" and a repeat of "The Good Wife" will be pre-empted.

The station is airing the shows at 2:12am and 3:12am, but because the game could (and likely will) go a bit late, they advise you to set your recorders for 2am - 5am.

You can also usually watch online the day after episodes air.

"Good Wife" to Alan Cumming: Willkommen!

Alan Cumming, famous for his Tony Award-winning turn as the Emcee in Broadway's "Cabaret" revival, will appear on CBS's "The Good Wife" very soon. (So excited!)

According to TV Guide Magazine, the Scottish actor will play an image consultant who works to turn around the career of imprisoned politician Peter Florrick (Chris Noth).

As for TV credits, Cumming has appeared in Showtime's "The L-Word" and Syfy's "Tin Man." He also provided the voice for the Devil in NBC's short-lived (but funny) animated series, "God, the Devil, and Bob."

"The Good Wife" is doing well in ratings and has already been renewed by CBS for a second season. The show's star, Julianna Margulies, won a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award this month for her work on the show. It currently airs on Tuesday nights at 10pm.
