True Blood (9pm, HBO) - The fourth season premiere has life going on in Bon Temps without Sookie. Where has Sookie been? I can't tell you or Alan Ball will hunt me down. But I will tell you there's a very awesome guest star in the first episode, which I also can't talk about. Lots of big developments in tonight's debut. Don't miss it.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent (9pm, USA) - In the show's series finale, Goren (Vincent D'onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) investigate the murders of two staffers at a web company involved in a heated lawsuit. Their investigation leads to a site that connects strangers who have had brief romantic encounters. I'm really going to miss this one. Bobby Goren has to be one of the great TV detectives of all time, right?

Tonight's two-hour debut introduces us to Tom Mason (Noah Wyle, right) and a regiment of citizen soldiers who fight against the invaders. The show begins six months after the attack, the purpose of which remains a mystery even then. It's good. Read our review.

In tonight's pilot, the detective and her partner (Tisha Campbell-Martin) probe a fatal mugging that may have been a targeted murder. Here's Adrienne's review.

The Killing (10pm, AMC) - As the investigation continues, Rosie is tied to an unusual website. Also, an imprisoned Stan comes to grips with his demons while Mitch uncovers secrets about her murdered daughter.

A third look at A&E's 'The Glades'

Since its debut last year, A&E's 'The Glades' has enjoyed the distinction (with me) of starring The Most Annoying Character on Television.

A lot of people agreed with me, but a suprisingly larger number of viewers found Detective Jim Longworth (Matt Passmore, left) to be funny or cute, and the show was a solid success for the network.

I even checked back in later during the first season, but unfortunately, it was a really horrible episode in which Longworth was trying to solve a case while Miami was in the middle of a Category 4 hurricane (at least one reader also hated that episode). I didn't last. Awful stuff.

But then I read a review last week that said 'The Glades' had really toned down the obnoxiousness of the Longworth character, and that he wasn't nearly as insufferable and grating as before.

What to Watch on Sunday: Sudeikis hosts MTV Movie Awards

Army Wives (9pm, Lifetime) - Emmalin and Michael's disagreement about their futures puts Claudia Joy in the middle.

MTV Movie Awards (9pm, MTV) - SNL's Jason Sudeikis (right) hosts the 20th annual film awards show from Los Angeles. Honorees include Reese Witherspoon, who will receive the MTV Generation Award. Performances from Foo Fighters, Lupe Fiasco, and Trey Songz. Presenters include Ryan Reynolds, Steve Carrell, Cameron Diaz, Jesse Eisenberg, Selena Gomez, Jason Segal, and Aziz Ansari.

The Glades (10pm, A&E) - Oh great, that show I hate is back! Oops. I meant to say, 'Oh great, this very popular quirky cop drama from A&E returns for its second season!' In tonight's opener, the daughter of a Cuban mobster is murdered, and Jim must solve the case to prevent a war between rival mob families.

The Killing (10pm, AMC) - Three episodes left to find out who killed Rosie Larsen. The investigation takes an interesting turn when Sarah and Holder learn more about Rosie's whereabouts on the night of her murder, but everything must be put on hold when Sarah's son goes missing and the detectives go searching for him.

In Plain Sight (10pm, USA) - Mary reluctantly teams up with a remorseless con artist to go after an even bigger criminal. Guest star: D.W. Moffett.

Why Not? With Shania Twain (10pm, OWN) - Shania goes to New York for a photo shoot and meets with music producer David Foster about her single, "Today," and must summon up the courage to sing for him. Later, she relaxes with friends Bo Derek and John Corbett in Santa Barbara, California.

Teen Wolf (11pm, MTV) - The series premiere a new show about an unpopular teen (Tyler Posey) who is bitten by creature in the woods and the next day, starts to notice strange changes in his body. Loosely based on the popular 1985 movie starring Michael J. Fox.

What to Watch on Sunday: New seasons of "CSI: Miami" and "Next Iron Chef"

Lies in Plain Sight (8pm, Lifetime Movie Network) - A blind woman turns to her family for answers in the suicide death of her cousin, only to discover dark secrets from their childhood. Here's our review.

Rubicon (9pm, AMC) - I know it started off slow, but "Rubicon" is getting really good. Trust me. Tonight, Truxton gives Will a special assignment and Katherine receives a threat, which makes her afraid to leave her house.

The Next Iron Chef (9pm, Food) - The third season kicks off with ten new contestants in Los Angeles. The Chairman's Challenge has them cooking a meal on the beach.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Bree fires her handyman (Brian Austin Green) after falling for him (eww), and Susan feels guilty lying about her new job -- being taped cleaning houses while scantily clad.

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The ninth season begins with Horatio's team losing one of its members when a psychotic genius poisons someone in the lab and wreaks havoc in Miami. In the photo here, Horatio (David Caruso) and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) help an unconscious Calleigh (Emily Proctor) but we're pretty sure she's not the one going down for good.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - An emergency meeting at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce has rumors flying. Will Roger come clean about Lucky Strike?

Glades (10pm, A&E) - In the season finale, a caddie is murdered and it's discovered that he was recently released from prison, where he served time for the attempted rape of a female pro golfer.

The Haunted (10pm, Animal Planet) - The season premiere has the story of a paranormal researcher allegedly seduced and posssessed by a female demonic creature. I'm starting to notice that a lot of these Animal Planet shows aren't really about animals.

What to Watch on Sunday: An assist from Josie Tigertail on "Glades"

Rubicon (9pm, AMC) - A security breach at API leads the FBI to put the department on lockdown, and Katherine suspects her home is no longer safe. AMC has a marathon of the first 6 episodes "Rubicon" today starting at 9am, and then this new episode at 9pm.

The Great Food Truck Race (9pm, Food) - Loving this show. The four remaining teams travel to New Orleans, where a surprise catfish-cookoff awaits. I bet the Ragin' Cajun will cry for sure when he finds out about this! (Vote for Durham food truck Only Burger to be on this show next season!)

Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch (9pm, VH1) - Two women remain and Chad's choice comes down to passion versus a "close mental connection." Oh my. I wonder which he'll choose.

The Glades (10pm, A&E) - Jim (left) investigates the death of a Native American tribal elder who crashes to her death through a skylight at the Blues Rock Casino, and the case has him collaborating with Josie Tigertail, a tribal police officer. Later, Callie gets jealous when she sees Jim interacting with Josie Tigertail. I'm promoting this only so I can say "Josie Tigertail." I think I would rather watch a show about him. Or her.

The Gates (10pm, ABC) - Nick learns more about Claire and Dylan's vampiric past when a kidnapper snatches their daughter Emily.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - A quickly approaching deadline causes stress at the Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce office.

What to Watch on Sunday: "Mad Men" Christmas party

Rubicon (8pm, AMC) - The pilot of AMC's new cloak-and-dagger conspiracy thriller repeats at 8pm and then a new episode airs at 9pm. Read more about the series and then DVR both episodes.

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Sam intervenes when Melinda and Joe Lee rope Tommy into a dog-fighting ring (anyone else sick of Sam's new family???), Eric hatches a plan to get information from Queen Sophie-Anne, and Sookie makes one last effort to rescue Bill.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - The office Christmas party is nearly spoiled by the late arrival of a surprise and not-so-welcome visitor -- the bastard Lucky Strikes executive (played by Darren Pettie, left) who got Sal (Bryan Batt) fired last season.

The Gates (10pm, ABC) - A vampire slays a resident inside the Gates and Nick gets Dylan to help him find the killer, while Dylan's wife Claire tries to end things with Christian.

The Glades (10pm, A&E) - The dead body of a businessman is discovered just before the annual high school football Muck Bowl event, and Jim hits roadblocks when Pohokee's star player starts looking like a prime suspect. Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden guest stars.
