What to Watch on Monday: A few finales, return of 'Bachelorette'

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - The tenth and final performance show of the season, and it's only one hour long!

House (8pm, Fox) - In the seventh season finale, House does something odd (even for him) which could alter his relationships with Wilson and Cuddy for good. FYI, Lisa Edelstein (Cuddy) is not returning next season.

The Bachelorette (9pm, ABC) - Dental student Ashley Hebert (right), Brad Womack's second runner-up (also known as "the real winner in that situation"), meets 25 potential husbands. Among them, a butcher, a fellow dentist, a masked man and a guy she already knows. We've scanned the bios and don't see any obvious North Carolina connections, but we'll monitor the episode tonight just in case -- solely for potential news value.

The Chicago Code (9pm, Fox) - In the series finale (what a shame), Teresa gets a return visit from FBI agent Cuyler (Adam Arkin), and Jarek is determined to resolve some lingering issues that have plagued the Wysockis. Meanwhile, Teresa and Jarek play all their cards in their case against Gibbons.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - In the series finale, Martinez and Peel are immersed in a power struggle with Jarvis and unbeknownst to them, Sophia. Also, Sean, Vicky, Sterling and Simon race to stop the dispersion of the virus, while Leila battles for her life and the portal begins to cool.

What to Watch on Monday: An encore of Tim Hetherington's 'Restrepo'

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - The celebrities dance to songs that are considered guilty pleasures. Is that code for "bad?"

Restrepo: Outpost Afghanistan (9pm, National Geographic Channel) - An encore airing of the award-winning documentary by Sebastian Junger and photographer Tim Hetherington. Hetherington was killed in Libya last week, along with fellow war photographer and NC State alum Chris Hondros. For 'Restrepo,' Junger and Hetherington visit Afghanistan's Korengal Valley and spend a year with the Second Platoon, a squadron that dubbed their stronghold Outpost Restrepo in honor of their fallen comrade PFC Juan Restrepo. An Al Quaeda and Taliban stronghold, Korengal Valley sees some of the fiercest fighting in the country.

American Experience: Stonewall Uprising (9pm, UNC-TV) - A documentary about the 1969 police raid on a popular gay bar in Greenwich Village that erupted into violent protests and demonstrations that lasted for six days. The Stonewall Riots, as they came to be known, marked a major turning point in the modern gay civil rights movement.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - Peel and Sterling investigate a sudden illness in the White House. Also Michael helps Leila and Sean and Vicky try to prevent Sophia's weapon from being loaded onto a Russian plane headed for the U.S.

Better With You (9:30pm, ABC) - To prep for their wedding reception, Casey and Mia take a dance class and Casey, who is a very good dancer, discovers that Mia is not. Meanwhile, Ben seeks relationship advice from Larry King, who appears as himself.

Seized and Sold: The Madoff Auction (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - A look at items seized from Ponzi schemer Bernie Madoff's New York homes as they're auctioned off by the U.S. Marshall's Service to raise funds for victims of white collar crimes. Items up for bid include a $350,000 ring and an antique Steinway piano.

What to Watch on Monday: Salute to Bush 41, return of 'Jackie' and 'Tara'

All Together Now: A Celebration of Service (8pm, NBC) - American public service and volunteerism are saluted in a gala spotlighting the service of former U.S. president George H.W. Bush. Fellow former presidents Bill Clinton (who serves as co-chair of the event), George W. Bush, and Jimmy Carter are all in attendance. President Barack Obama narrates a short film about the value of service. Performances by Garth Brooks, Sheryl Crow, Cee Lo Green, Reba McEntire, Sam Moore, Brad Paisley, Kid Rock, Darius Rucker, and Carrie Underwood.

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - Week two of performances. Like I need to remind you.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - Martinez and Sterling have the Sleepers surrounded, but a national disaster triggered by Sophia forces them to the negotiating table.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - Castle and Beckett investigate when a juror for a socialite's murder trial is poisoned and dies in court.

Nurse Jackie (10pm, Showtime) - In tonight's Season 3 premiere, Jackie works to set things right with Kevin and Dr. O'Hara following last season's intervention. Also, Dr. Akalitus learns that nearby hospitals are closing, which will stretch the resources of All Saints. Here's our take on where Season 3 seems to be heading.

The United States of Tara (10:30pm, Showtime) - In the Season 3 premiere, Tara decides to go back to college, but Max thinks it's a bad idea and worries that the stress will conjure up one of her alters.

What to Watch on Monday: Will Brad pick Emily on 'The Bachelor?'

The Bachelor (8pm, ABC) - Tonight's the night Brad Womack gives out his final rose, and it better be to Charlotte's Emily Maynard if he knows what's good for him. Whatever happens, there promises to be lots of drama before the final rose ceremony. 'The Bachelor: After the Final Rose" special airs immediately following this at 10pm. In the meantime, catch up on all of our 'Bachelor'/Emily Maynard coverage.

The Best of Laugh-In (8pm, UNC-TV) - A special featuring memorable clips from the variety show, "Rowan  & Martin's Laugh-In," which ran from 1968-1973.

Stargate Universe (10pm, Syfy) - In the season's second episode, Eli may have found a way home, but Rush believes the plan could go catastrophically wrong.

Lizard Lick Towing (10pm, truTV) - Ron and Amy host what TV Guide calls a "pig roast," but we all know they have a pig-pickin'. At the pig-pickin', a guest's car needs to be repossessed. Also, Amy's water breaks while Ron is away.

What to Watch on Monday: 'The Event' returns, and the 'Women Tell All'

The Event (8pm, NBC) - I had almost forgotten about this show. You can thank the cancelation of 'The Cape' for its return. If you're still paying attention, tonight the president and his chief of staff order the intelligence community to decrypt Thomas' satellite message and a surprise attack by Thomas is handled by Blake in a heroic standoff. Also, a new Alaskan senator threatens to reveal information about the Mt. Inostranka detention facility on "Hardball with Chris Matthews."

The Bachelor: The Women Tell All (8pm, ABC) - It's the night when all the rejects get together and scrap. Might be interesting to watch just to see how Crazy Michelle tries to pretend like it was editing that made her look crazy all season.

House (8pm, Fox) - A bombshell that hits Cuddy causes her to rethink her priorities and distracts House as the team tries to diagnose a troubled team with mysterious scars. There's a dream sequence choreographed by Mia Michaels of 'So You Think You Can Dance,' so I guess you know what that means...

He Loves Me (9pm, Lifetime) - A new Lifetime movie in which a Seattle woman (Heather Locklear) tries to save her marriage despite her husband's infidelities. We've got a review.

The Chicago Code (9pm, Fox) - A teenager's murder in Chinatown is investigated, and Teresa tries to get the locals to cooperate while Gibbons works on making  headway with the area's unofficial mayor.

Being Human (9pm, Syfy) - Really enjoying this show. Tonight, Sally meets some ghosts in an old, vacant part of the hospital, and Aiden helps a boy who is being bullied. Also, Nora and Josh continue their awkward courtship, and Rebecca resurfaces (I could do without Rebecca).

All About Aubrey (10pm, Oxygen) - A new reality series about singer Aubrey O'Day, the former vocalist for the female group Danity Kane. O'Day attempts to launch a solo career. Learn more from our review.

What to Watch on Monday: Lyle Lovett plays shady on "Castle"

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - It's the return of Robin Sparkles. Tonight the gang learns more about Robin's past as Canadian teen star Robin Sparkles, and they encourage her to reunite with her former television co-star, Jessica Glitter.

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - Worried that his relationship with Sarah is souring, Chuck tries to prove his worth by undertaking a dangerous assignment with an overly ambitious agent (Rob Riggle, "The Daily Show"). Elsewhere, Buy More staffers delve into Greta's true identity, prompting Morgan and Casey's swift interference. Richard Chamberlain and Summer Glau both guest star.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - "The Event" keeps me only halfway interested throughout the first 50 minutes of the show, and then grabs me in the last ten. You know you want to know the deal with those little Benjamin Button girls from last week's ending, right? Tune in tonight...

In Treatment (9pm, HBO) - Sunil is unnerved by parallels between Arun and Julia's marriage and a romance from his youth. In the second episode, painful family memories take a toll on Frances' self-esteem.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - An astrophysicist is found dead in her car, and the investigation leads Castle and Beckett to the possibility of an alien abduction. Meanwhile, a shady government agent -- played by Lyle Lovett -- tries to put an end to the pair's probe.

What to Watch on Monday: Jennifer Grey in ratings battle with herself

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - Casey is shadowed by his past when his former team returns and searches for him. Meanwhile, Chuck continues his quest to find his  mother, and Morgan tries to summon the courage to disclose a delicate secret to Casey. Guest stars include Eric Roberts and Dave Batista.

House (8pm, Fox) - The mother (Jennifer Grey) of a newborn with breathing difficulties and liver failure must make a very difficult decision that could affect her own health as well as her baby's. Also, Cuddy asks House to babysit her daughter, and he and Wilson learn a parenting lesson in the process. Grey is also on "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC, which competes with this show in the same timeslot.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - They said Hal Holbrook would be on last week and he wasn't (just his voice on the phone at the end) so I have trust issues now with this show.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - An extra body found in a casket during a funeral leads Beckett and Castle to investigate the love affairs of doctors at a local hospital. Also, Castle's girlfriend (who is also one of his ex-wives) tries to bond with Alexis.

Hawaii Five-0 (10pm, CBS) - The teen daughter of a US ambassador to the Philippines is murdered and her body is found off the Waikiki coast. Her sister is then kidnapped and it's the Five-0's mission to find her.

Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It (10pm, VH1) - In the opener of this new reality series, rocker Bret Micahels balances family life and being a touring performer, hitting the road for the first time since his brain hemorrhage.

What to Watch on Monday: Hal Holbrook shakes up "The Event"

House (8pm, Fox) - House and Cuddy must reexamine their relationship after a visit from House's massage therapist.

The Event (9pm, NBC) - To stop a biological threat, authorities must break Sophia during interrogations. And Hal Holbrook (right) comes onboard tonight as a villainous businessman with knowledge of classified intelligence who butts heads with the President. You know what's hard? Trying to find a picture of Hal Holbrook looking sinister.

Reviving Ophelia (9pm, Lifetime) - A new movie about two sisters (Jane Kaczmarek and Kim Dickens) who support each other as they raise very different teenage daughters, one of whom is in an abusive relationship. Based on the novel by Mary Pipher. Adrienne's review.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - Castle suggest "time travel" as a possible element in the murder of a mathematician shot by a 200-year-old bullet.

Weeds (10pm, Showtime) - The Botwins borrow a page from "Breaking Bad" and move their drug business into an RV, which they park at an old movie set that once depicted a frontier town.

The Big C (10:30pm, Showtime) - Lenny asks Cathy to accompany him to an art opening in the Bahamas, but Paul has planned a surprise party for her and has invited her eccentric college friend, played by Cynthia Nixon.

What to Watch on Monday: Gear up for a packed fall premiere week

Tonight marks the beginning of a super-crazy-insane week of television premieres. So get an extra DVR, call in sick for work, do whatever you have to do. Here we go...

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - The new season begins tonight and the twelve couples will either perform the Viennese Waltz or the cha-cha.

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - Season 4 begins with me weeping for Scott Bakula and Chuck looking for his mother, who is played by Linda Hamilton. Meanwhile, Sarah and Casey travel to Russia to probe a mysterious organization and its operative (Dolph Lundgren). Also, Ellie breaks big news to the family. Olivia Munn and Harry Dean Stanton also guest star.

How I Met Your Mother (8pm, CBS) - Season 6 opens and we all pray it's better than last season. Tonight, Ted runs into Cindy (Rachel Bilson), whom he dated briefly, and who is also the roommate of his future wife. Also, Robin has trouble getting over Don and Marshall can't stop talking about starting a family.

Rules of Engagement (8:30pm, CBS) - Season 5 begins. Apart from the fact that Jaime Pressly is back, there's not too much to say about it. In other yawn-inducing news, "Two and a Half Men" begins their 8th season at 9pm. In that premiere, Charlie thinks it's time he cut back on his drinking. Insert your own joke.

House (8pm, Fox) - The seventh season premiere is a Huddy lovefest. House and Cuddy are holed up in his apartment exploring their feelings for each other while House keeps Cuddy from finding out about a crisis at the hospital. More about Huddy love here.

Keep reading for info on "Lone Star," "Hawaii 5-0," "Castle," and MUCH more.

"The Event": Will there be a smoke monster, too?

After watching the pilot of NBC's new action mystery "The Event," I still have no earthly idea what it's about. And if I dared tell you what happens at the end of the pilot, you would think that I -- and the show's writers -- have been smoking something wacky. Or watching too much "Lost."

"The Event," starring Jason Ritter and Blair Underwood, is NBC trying real hard to be the next "Lost," but also hedging its bet by tossing in elements of "24" and "FlashForward" and "4400" and "V" and "Kidnapped" and, what the heck, maybe even "Heroes."
