'Biggest Loser' casting call in Knightdale

NBC will be casting for the 14th season of "The Biggest Loser" in Knightdale on Saturday, July 14.

That's right -- Knightdale. As Eastern Wake News reporter Andy Specht recently pointed out, that North Carolina stop is by far the smallest city in the show's 13-city try-out tour.

Maybe that's a good thing. Maybe that increases a person's odds of getting picked?

If you're interested in participating in the show, here are the details. The casting call takes place on July 14 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Rex Wellness Center in Knightdale (6602 Knightdale Boulevard). Those wanting to apply should be 18 years or older and need to have at least 85 pounds pounds to lose. . . .

What to Watch on Tuesday: New 'Work It' sitcom is the night's biggest loser

The Biggest Loser (8pm, NBC) - This show runs pretty much non-stop throughout the year now. The previous season just ended a few weeks ago and now we have a fresh new batch of couples at the ranch. The twist this season is that the couples will be split up and compete against each other.

Book giveaways that will inspire you and kick you in the caboose

As "The Biggest Loser" begins to wrap up it's season, so ends trainer Jillian Michaels tenure on the show.

But it's OK. She's not disappearing. Us Magazine reports that Ms. Michaels is joining the expert panel on the syndicated series "The Doctors." Plus, she'll appear as an expert on "Dr. Phil."

So to celebrate, we have two book giveaways. "Unliimited: How To Build An Exceptional Life" is Michaels' 'guide to self-improvement and fulfillment,' according to Kirkus Reviews. "The tone is conversational and familiar, like a friend patting the readers on the back and kicking them in the rear."

"Paper Dollhouse" is the memoir of Dr. Lisa M. Masterson, a co-host on  "The Doctors." Kirkus calls it "an inspring account of challenges faces and overcome, not only as a child but as a physician, mother, TV celebrity..."

Two women. Two books. Both free.

Want one? Want both? Click here to get "Unlimited" and here to get "Dollhouse."

Put your address in the body. We'll have a random drawing and get them right out to you.
