Motive (10pm, ABC) - This new series -- another Canadian import a la "Rookie Blue" -- offers a twist on the typical crime drama by building the mystery not around who committed the crime, but why they committed it. "Motive" identifies the killer and the victim at the opening of the show, and then hangs with the detectives as they catch the killer and figure out the "why." It's not a bad summer replacement series, but not as good as "Rookie Blue." (Okay, I like "Rookie Blue" -- so sue me!) Starting Thursday of this week, "Motive" moves to 9 right before "Rookie Blue," which returns for its fourth season.

In the second hour, Tom is plagued by haunting memories of his time with the aliens and begins to speculate that they may have tampered with his mind.

leading experts on the sunken ship to investigate lingering mysteries of how and why the "unsinkable" ship sank.
Terra Nova (8pm, Fox) - The two-hour premiere of the much anticipated adventure drama from Steven Spielberg. Jason O'Mara ("Life on Mars") stars as a Chicago cop from the 22nd century who travels 85 million years into the past to give his family a better shot at survival (the 2149 earth has become almost unlivable due to overpopulation and pollution). Not usually my kind of show, but I found the pilot to be really exciting. Here's
