The Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - One of the 16 remaining bachelors scores a one-on-one date with Emily that includes a private concert with country singer Luke Bryan, while another escorts her to Dollywood in Tennessee, where they are serenaded by Dolly Parton.

Hatfields & McCoys (9pm, History) - In part one of a three-part mini-series, a McCoy is murdered by a Hatfield and a forbidden love affair begins at the start of the legendary Hatfield-McCoy family feud, which nearly brought the states of Kentucky and West Virginia to a civil war in the 1880s. Stars Kevin Costner (right) and Bill Paxton. Adrienne has a review.

Hemingway & Gellhorn (9pm, HBO) - In this original HBO movie, a chance 1936 meeting between novelist Ernest Hemingway (Clive Owen) and war correspondent Martha Gellhorn (Nicole Kidman) sparks a nine-year relationship dominated by a volatile romance that nearly rivaled the combat zones into which they threw themselves in Spain, China, and World War II. It's not really as interesting as it sounds -- my review.

Gene Simmons Family Jewels (9pm, A&E) - In the seventh season opener, Shannon decides that she wants to adopt a child, which creates tension with Gene.

Independent Lens: To Hell and Back (10pm, UNC-TV) - Photojournalist Danfung Dennis chronicles the experiences of a Marine platoon battling the Taliban in 2009 in Afghanistan. The documentary details the physical and emotional challenges a wounded soldier faces upon returning home.

Witness (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - Home vidoes of military men and women surprising their loved ones with an unexpected home visit, and the stories behind the emotional reunions are featured.

House (8pm, Fox) - Tonight's two-hour series finale includes a retrospective and the final episode, in which House's (Hugh Laurie) treatment of an ailing drug addict leads him to sift through his own life and speculate on his future.

Burt Bacharach & Hal David: The Gershwin Prize for Popular Song (9pm, UNC-TV) - Burt Bacharach and Hal David receive the honor from President Obama during a concert at the White House. Performers of songs by the duo include Sheryl Crow, Michael Feinstein, Diana Krall, Lyle Lovett, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder and others.

The Bachelorette (9pm, ABC) - 19 bachelors move into a Charlotte mansion to begin competing for the affections of Emily Maynard. Tonight, a one-on-one date has a concert by country band Gloriana, and thirteen of the men perform with the Sesame Street Muppets as they and Emily raise funds for a local hospital. There's also an altercation between two men that almost comes to blows, and a date at a resort Emily remembers from her childhood (please let it be South of the Border!). Three men are sent home.

Witness (10pm, NGC) - National Geographic Channel presents first-person accounts of the deadly tornado that struck Joplin, Mo., on May 22, 2011, killing more than 150 people devastating the city.

Charlotte's Emily Maynard makes her debut as ABC's new "Bachelorette" tonight, and Charlotte Observer is all over it. Below is a recent article from Charlotte on why Maynard decided to once again look for love on television.

Emily Maynard’s last relationship failed in the most public, most sensational way possible.

Since Emily Maynard is the new "Bachelorette," much of the filming of the upcoming season of the show is taking place in or around Charlotte.

Below is Meghan Cooke's Charlotte Observer story on one of Emily's dates -- this one  at the Mint Musuem Uptown.

Charlotte’s Emily Maynard took “The Bachelorette” to new heights Tuesday night, scaling the side of the Mint Museum Uptown on a date with a suitor.
The ABC reality TV show has been filming across the Queen City as Maynard, a 26-year-old single mom, looks for love among a batch of men vying for her affection.

ABC has no comment yet, but both Entertainment Weekly and People magazine are reporting that Charlotte's Emily Maynard will be the next "Bachelorette" for the ABC franchise. The filming of the dating reality series will reportedly move to Charlotte for Maynard's season, so that she can stay close to her young daughter.

On "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette," single people date on TV and compete for the chance to get engaged. Few of the unions last. Maynard was a constestant on "The Bachelor" in January 2011 and beat out 25 other women for the affections of Texas businessman Brad Womack. The two became engaged in the show's finale, but the relationship off screen was rocky and they soon split.

Maynard is also known as the former fiance of Ricky Hendrick, a member of Charlotte's prominent NASCAR family who was killed in a plane crash in October 2004. Maynard learned a week after Hendrick's death that she was pregnant with his daughter, Ricki. The single mother distinguished herself on the 2011 season of "The Bachelor" for always being remarkably graceful and poised -- something rarely seen of the contestants on that show.

Maynard is well-loved by "Bachelor/Bachelorette" fans, so hopefully ABC will keep the awful Ashley/Bentley-type shenanigans to a minimum for once.

The Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - It's finally over. In tonight's season finale, Ashley must choose between J.P. (left) and Ben F., the two remaining contenders. Apparently, Ashley's family really likes one of the guys, and her sister disapproves of the other one. "After the Final Rose" airs at 10.

The Closer (9pm, TNT) - The squad searches for a vanished boy who has a connection to Lt. Tao. Also, Captain Raydor continues her methodical review of Brenda's team and offers a troubling recommendation to Brenda.

Teen Wolf (10pm, MTV) - Scott scrambles to protect the people he loves, including Allison, from the Alpha. But Allison is beginning to follow clues about her family history, getting closer to the truth about Scott. Also, Stiles is getting closer to solving the mystery behind Derek's family.

Weeds (10pm, Showtime) - While in California, Nancy runs into an old business acquaintances and Silas gets caught in the crossfire. Also, Andy comes up with a new business venture and turns to Shane and Doug for help.

The Protector (10pm, Lifetime) - A murder case involving a young woman found in a lake leads Gloria and Michelle into a kinky subculture. Meanwhile, Gloria and Davey's mom (Patty Duke) arrives and turns their lives upside down.

Pawn Stars (10pm, History) - Items coming into the store include Ronald Reagan's high school yearbook and puppets and props from the original Buffalo Bill Wild West Show.

Unsung (10pm, TV One) - Get "Boogie Fever" with the poignant TV One profile of The Sylvers singing group.

Same Name (9pm, CBS) - This might actually be really interesting: Comedian Kathy Griffin trades places with a working mother from Fayetteville, Georgia.

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Sookie hunts for Jason under a full moon while Arlene and Terry wonder about the cause of a strange fire. Also, Eric gives in to a higher authority and Marnie has contact with her supernatural predecessors.

Masterpiece Mystery: Zen (9pm, UNC-TV) - Zen is assigned to the kidnapping of a wealthy industrialist and political party funder whom the Ministry of Justice wants returned alive at any cost.

Bachelorette: The Men Tell All (9pm, ABC) - Six rejected bachelors gather to confront Ashley and each other, and comment on the behavior of Bentley. I guess that means Bentley was smart enough not to show his face there.

Breaking Bad (10pm, AMC) - Jesse's downward spiral continues and things at his house begin to get out of control. Also, Skyler reluctantly decides she better call Saul for help with the car wash, Marie reverts back to an old habit, and Hank hears from an old friend who needs help.

Heidi Fleiss: Prostitutes to Parrots (10pm, Animal Planet) - A profile of former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss as she tries to maintain legitimate business interests, stay sober, and care for her menagerie of exotic birds.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (10pm, HBO) - Larry challenges the rules of dating and rethinks a decision regarding a new workplace neighbor.

Against the Wall (10pm, Lifetime) - A new pilot about Chicago Internal Affairs detective Abby Kowalski (Rachael Carpani) who investigates crimes in the department. In the opener, Abby, a beat cop, accepts a promotion to detective in IA, which doesn't sit well with her family of cops. Also stars Kathy Baker and Treat Williams. Here's Adrienne's review.

Falling Skies (10pm, TNT) - Weaver turns more and more erratic, stirring up trouble while on a reconnaissance mission with Tom and Hal. Meanwhile, Pope constructs a potent weapon and Anne makes a startling discovery while performing an autopsy on a Skitter cadaver.

Marriage Ref (10pm, NBC) - Maybe worth tuning in for just to hear JB Smoove and Larry Miller goof on the couples' disputes. Rachael Ray is also a judge.

The Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - Ashley arrives in Taiwan with six bachelors, and she'll send two of them home. Also tonight, Emily Maynard talks to host Chris Harrison about the end of her relationship with "Bachelor" Brad Womack.

Born Bad (8pm, Lifetime) - A teen (Bonnie Dennison) moves with her family to a new town, where she becomes smitten with a charming guy (Michael Welch), who soon unveils a menacing dark side.

Inside the Actors Studio (8pm, Bravo) - Jennifer Anniston talks to James Lipton about her life and career.

The Closer (9pm, TNT) - The seventh and final season begins with Brenda (Krya Sedgwick) investigating the shootings of a rap star and six bystanders, and fighting a civil suit targeting her and the whole department. Also, Chief Delk (Courtney B. Vance) is ready to announce huge organizational changes in the department.

Man vs. Wild (9pm, Discovery) - Actor Jake Gyllenhaal embarks on a grueling arctic trek with Bear Grylls, traveling where Bear travels and eating what Bear eats. Just don't hurt that face!

Warehouse 13 (9pm, Syfy) - In the Season 3 premiere, a rock legend's guitar becomes a menace in Jersey City, and Artie and Claudia run into an ATF agent who has a knack for knowing when people are lying.

Rizzoli & Isles (10pm, TNT) - Season 2 opens with Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) recovering from last season's shooting, and being saluted as a hero at a public event. An act of violence at the tribute ceremony pulls Rizzoli back into the job, and also causes her to reconnect with a former beau, who may be able to help mend some of her emotional wounds.

Law & Order: Los Angeles (10pm, NBC) - In the series' final episode, a man is found dead at UCLA and it might be the result of protecting his sister, who is a star soccer player.

Alphas (10pm, Syfy) - In the pilot of this new series following a team of people with extraordinary abilities who investigate crimes linked to others like them, ominous messages steer a man to a building's rooftop, where he executes an improbable shooting. Our review here. 

Countdown with Keith Obermann (8pm, Current TV) - The premiere of Olbermann's new show after being fired from MSNBC. Current TV is channel 413 on Time Warner Cable.

The Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - Ashley is still in the Thailand with the remaining guys, trying to figure out which one can be her mate for life. Also, Evil Bentley returns to mess with Ashley's head some more. Because, you know, free trip to Thailand.

Animal Planet Investigates: Captive Hunting Exposed (9pm, Animal Planet) - An investigation into canned-hunting operations, in which animals are shot in confined areas. According to Zap2It.com, the special takes viewers inside facilities in New York and Texas where clients hunt and kill exotic and sometimes endangered species. Zebras, wildebeests, even kangaroos are all fair game and confined to a limited area where they are easy pickings for the trophy-hungry hunter. Seriously, in what kind of tortured rationalization is that "sporting?"

Sex Crimes Unit (9pm, HBO) - A documentary that looks at the division of the Manhattan DA's office dedicated to investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases. Includes the story of a 1993 rape that was reexamined shortly before the statute of limitations expired, but ended with a conviction. Directed by Lisa F. Jackson.

MasterChef (9pm, Fox) - The contestants have one hour to prepare a dish using surprise ingredients found in a mystery box. Two are eliminated. My vow to Fox: I'll keep watching as long as you keep Pumpkin Ben. After that, I can't make any promises.

Hoarders (9pm, A&E) - In the fourth season opener, a woman collects dolls, and a woman has no water or heat in her home because of her hoarding. Geralin Thomas, a professional organizer in Cary, appears on tonight's episode helping Phyllis from Georgia.

Intervention (10pm, A&E) - A new season opens with a woman battling a heroin addiction.

Teen Wolf (10pm, MTV) - A new werewolf hunter arrives in town, putting Derek's life in danger and forcing him to make reluctant allies of Scott and Stiles. Meanwhile, Scott tries to survive dinner with Allison's father.

Nurse Jackie (10pm, Showtime) - In the season finale, Jackie sweats through a mandatory drug test at work and tries to avoid another confrontation with Kevin.

United States of Tara (10:30pm, Showtime) - In the series finale,  Tara and Max head to Boston to see an expert doctor. Also, Evan proposes to Kate and Marshall ponders where to go to college.

MasterChef (8pm, Fox) - One hundred amateur cooks arrive in Los Angeles to compete for a spot on the second season of 'MasterChef,' a cooking competition show for amateur cooks, judged by Gordon Ramsay, Graham Elliot Bowles, and Joe Bastianich.

The Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - A comedy "roast" takes a bite out of Ashley, who is devastated by some of the remarks. Here Ashley learns that Evil Bentley (left) came on the show hoping to meet Charlotte's Emily Maynard, who became engaged to Brad Womack on the last season of 'The Bachelor.' Previews show Ashley having a meltdown that would make any 14-year-old girl proud.

Last Man Standing (8pm, Lifetime) - A suburban wife (Catherine Bell) must confront her secret past as a CIA agent when her husband (Anthony Michael Hall) is kidnapped and the crime is connected to the death of a fellow agent. Read our review.

Great Performances: Jackie Evancho - Dream with Me in Concert (8pm, UNC-TV) - Eleven-year-old soprano Jackie Evancho from "America's Got Talent" performs at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida.

Switched at Birth (9pm, ABC Family) - The premiere of a new series about two teens who were switched at birth. One teen is rebellious and being raised by a rich couple, the other is a sunny teen being raised by a single mother. Stars Vanessa Marano, Katie Leclerc, and Lea Thompson.

Teen Wolf (10pm, MTV) - In the second episode of this new series, Scott struggles to balance his new life as a werewolf and the pressures of being a teen, all while avoiding werewolf hunters and trying to score a second date with Allison. A repeat of last night's 11pm series premiere airs at 9pm.

Unsung (10pm, TV One) - Season 4 opens with a profile of singer Deniece Williams. We've got a review.
