The Amazing Race: Things start to get real cheesy

It's said that after having babies nature allows women to forget the pain so that they might bear another child.

That's not true of all painful experiences. Memory, in most cases, serves an important function. It helps to stop us from making the same mistake twice.

On the other hand, no pain, no gain.

After our non-elimination leg, we're in Salzburg and Team Aspie gets to leave first. But first we get treated to another scene of their joy at winning the 2012 Ford Focus. I don't think this product placement is as effective as the Snapple plug. I wanted to buy the Snapple; I am not buying a Ford Focus.

The Amazing Race: Eyes bigger than their stomachs

You'd think that experienced Racers would know that tackling any task involving food is probably not a good idea.

You would think.

The Globetrotters leave India first, heading for a flight to Vienna, Austria. Once the teams arrive in Austria, we're told, they are to find a new 2012 Ford Focus for the next clue.

The trip to Austria gives Flight Time of the Globetrotters the chance to do his Arnold Schwarzenegger impersonation, because that's pretty much all we know about Austria, that Ah-nold is from there. He's impersonation is OK.

The Amazing Race: You can't keep a good Goth down

We were left with the fanny pack cliffhanger, in which the Goths had left their packs with passports on a gondola, as they headed for a last place finish at the pit stop that' s not actually a pit (as in rest) stop.

They get the fanny pack back.

In fact, it's the beginning of a pretty good day for the Goths, since they not only have another chance at the Race, the next clue sends them on a train back to Kunming, China that leaves at night, so they'll catch up with all the other teams.

The bad news though, not unexpected, is that they'll have a 30-minute penalty they'll need to make up. And the worse news for everyone is that somewhere on the Race there's a double U-turn. That fact makes the Goths decide to keep their penalty to themselves so they won't be targeted.

The Amazing Race: The power of positive thinking, Goth edition

It's not fair, but sometimes on the Race, because of the categories, teams come to represent entire groups of people. Some ask for that responsibility (deaf son Luke) and some have it thrust upon them.

With that in mind, the National Association of Goths might want to send out a public note of protest.

We're in Japan, at the third pit stop, and Team Aspie leaves first for China. They are to head to Jade Dragon Mountain, but first they must get on a mandatory flight and then  find their way, as best they can, to the city where the clue box is.

The Amazing Race: Love, mud and broken mirrors

We've seen couples compete on the Race, but now it seems couples are being made. Asian daughter revealed that she's engaged to former Racer Azaria who was on the Race with his sister. Isn't that sweet?

Team Aspie got to the pit stop first and so they're first to head to Tokyo where they'll head to a rotating parking garage and get the next clue.

The teams, being experienced and all, are smart about travel. Most head for a travel agency or computer before they head for the airport. And there are several discussions about whether it's better to hop on the flight to Japan that has a connection through Hong Kong and arrives 15 minutes earlier or take the direct flight.

The Amazing Race: All you need is a good place to Google

We begin with them cowboys still stuck, baffled by the flags and how to break the code. Black cowboy hat is so frustrated he's taken off his hat (to help clear his head?). But not so frustrated he loses his good values. "Son of a bug, man!" is as far as he'll go. Next up: "Mother may I!"

Meanwhile, the next clue includes the line "to sail to stop," that the teams must figure out leads them to an anchor in from of Sydney's town hall where they'll sign up for charter flights.

Margie & deaf son Luke continue to proclaim their love for the mean red-headed former cheerleaders. Deaf son Luke even calls them his "Race" girlfriends.

The Amazing Race: The cowboys don't have a clue

Call 'em all stars or label it a reunion: whatever -- seeing characters from a favorite show return is fun. So we love the premise of "Unfinished Business," although we might have made some different picks, if Phil had asked us.

The teams:

Father and daughter team Gary & Mallory. She was the sweet little Miss Kentucky who prayed a lot. They lost after they got lost for 9 hours in Oman.

Sistah sisters Kisha & Jennifer. They lost when Jen HAD to pee instead of heading to the pit stop.

Cowboys Jet & Cord. They came in second place on their Race.

Couple Amanda & Cris. Who? Exactly. They're engaged now. They got inexplixably U-turned by Margie & Luke.
