The Amazing Race: The winners, the runners-up, and the redemption

It's the end of Season 16. We're glad our early favorite, the cowboys, were still in the hunt.

The ending proves, though, that knowing the Race, studying the Race, makes a difference. It also proves that the producers might need to make some changes.

The models are the first to get the clue that sends them out of Shanghai and to the US of A, specifically San Francisco. There they'll head to Battery Godfrey for a clue.

The Amazing Race: Why doesn't everyone speak English?

It's sweltering in April, but the weather did not disrupt the Race this week.

So we didn't miss a hearty dose of Ugly Americanism and got our final three.

We're still in Shanghai and the cowboys are leaving the pit stop first. They are to head to the Garden Bridge for the clue.

"Amazing Race" to rebroadcast tonight on WRAL

Last night's episode of "The Amazing Race" was pre-empted locally because of news coverage of severe weather in the area, but WRAL has received permission from CBS to rebroadcast the show tonight.

The Amazing Race: Happiness delivers despite the weather!

You didn't think a tornado would stop our recap of The Race, did you? (WRAL will rebroadcast "The Amazing Race" tonight).

Nope. I called my mom in New York, where the weather was more settled, and she graciously gave me a rather animated blow by blow.

It was like old-time radio and I won't do it any justice, but here goes:

The Amazing Race: Model hate everywhere U-Turn

How many times have you felt wronged and then imagined a scenario in which you were avenged, but life never presented you with that opportunity?

If your answer is 'too many times', you might want to see if you can get your hands on a U-Turn.

The cowboys leave first heading out to Singapore, by bus and train. They'll all be heading to the Victoria Concert Hall, where they'll get a clue from the handsome Allan Wu, the host of The Amazing Race Asia.

The Amazing Race: All hail the power of the cab driver

Airport connections and cab drivers can make or break you during the Race.

Tonight, we saw how cabbies can take you for a ride to the back of the pack.

The father and daughter arrived first on the last leg, so stuffed from their 7UP-sponsored meal, they are first to get the clue that sends the teams to Penang, Malaysia, and the Snake Temple.

As it turns out, being first doesn't matter since all the teams have to catch the same 2 a.m. ocean charter to the Seychelles airport.

"The Amazing Race": The Ox Box incident

Sometimes I have Race envy and last night was my worst case.

I have for years DREAMED of going to the Seychelles.

Not the Say-Kill-Ays (The cowboys). The Say Chill-Ays (The brothers) or the Sigh-Kill-Ays (The models). The Seychelles.

Wasn't it breathtaking?

The Amazing Race: The search for Cathy Drone and Noah's Ark

Adrienne is away so I'm taking over for her on the "Amazing Race" recap tonight. I'm a newbie and never watch this show, so take it easy on me if I get some of the names wrong.

There were some big ole sad developments tonight. Keep reading, but be mindful that this is a recap, so SPOILERS!

The Amazing Race: Are you a Morse code or combat type?

Thank goodness the Race got a little lively this leg.

There was some tension and some gamesmanship. And against all odds, Jeff & Jordan survived.

The teams started out in Hamburg and had to drive to Menehold, France where they were to go to a boulangerie (a bakery) and get a baguette for their next clue. Or a boolangee for a bagwet, depending on your style of pronunciation.

The Amazing Race: Cowboys keep their hats, while pretty boys lose their lunch

Don't blame me for this late post.

Blame those pesky Oscars and those in power who insist I have multiple responsibilities.

For the record, I offer an abridged recap of Sunday's leg of the Race.

We're in Patagonia, Argentina heading for Hamburg, Germany.
