What to Watch on Tuesday: Buble Christmas and 'Sons of Anarchy' finale

A Michael Bublé Christmas (8pm, NBC) - Singer Michael Bublé presides over a holiday variety show featuring Justin Bieber, Kellie Pickler (left), Thalia, Tracy Morgan, Ed Helms, the Puppini Sisters, and Naturally 7.

A Night at the Movies: Merry Christmas! (8pm, Turner Classic Movies) - A look at holiday-themed movies and behind the scenes info and interviews with Chevy Chase, Margaret O'Brien, Chaz Palminteri, Zack Ward, and Brian Henson.

On thin Ice: Into the Arctic (9pm, Animal Planet) - Explorer Bruce Parry examines the lives and cultures of people living above the Arctic Circle in Alaska, Siberia and Greenland, and how they are adapting to a changing world.

New Girl (9pm, Fox) - I'm trying to start a movement to get this show renamed "Schmidt" and the focus of it altered accordingly. Tonight, Schmidt weasels his way into his boss's baby shower to compete with his office female counterpart. This will be way funnier than anything Jess is doing tonight.

Raising Hope (9:30pm, Fox) - Jimmy and his coworker Frank realize they were both bullied by the same guy in high school, but their plot go get revenge on him doesn't work out like they'd hoped.

Sons of Anarchy (10pm, FX) - In the fourth season finale, Jax (Charlie Hunnan, right) must overcome major obstacles to complete the gun deal with the Irish and the cartel.

Covert Affairs (10pm, USA) - In the Season 2 finale, Annie and Danielle's vacation in Stockholm turns dangerous when Danielle is mistaken for a spy, putting her life in jeopardy.

Moonshiners (10pm, Discovery) - The premiere of a new reality series chronicling the adventures of those who illegally distill their own moonshine deep in Appalachia and the local authorities who pursue them. They throw in a little history of the bootleg whiskey tradition from the 1790's through the origins of NASCAR, and the first few episodes feature some clips of Popcorn Sutton (read more about the series). Another episode airs Wednesday night at 10, the regular timeslot for subsequent episodes.

TCM: Stephen King and a month of classic horror

What scares horror master Stephen King? He'll tell us in a great Turner Classic Movies special airing tonight.

"A Night at the Movies: The Horrors of Stephen King," not only gives us some insight into the twisted mind that gave us "Cujo," "Salem's Lot," "Carrie," "Pet Semetery," and many other terrifying books and films, it also kicks off a month of classic horror movies on the channel.

"A Night at the Movies: The Horrors of Stephen King" first airs on TCM tonight at 8 p.m. (with repeats throughout the month). The classic horror films air each Monday night in October, beginning tonight at 9 after the Stephen King special..

In the special, King talks about how he discovered and was inspired by terror at the movies, with lots of wonderful clips from horror films of every subgenre. King also talks about why he thinks people love being scared.

Some of the classic horror films airing on TCM this month are "Frankenstein," "Nosferatu," "House on Haunted Hill," "The Uninvited," "House of Wax," "Village of the Damned," and many more.

Hooray for Hollywood and TCM's "Movies & Moguls"

Movies are one of America's greatest contributions to culture, and that's what makes "Moguls & Movie Stars: A History of Hollywood" (TCM, 8 tonight), so wonderful.

The rise of "Hollywood" is the story of immigrants, ingenuity, creativity and big business; in other words, the history of movies has all the elements for great storytelling.

The seven-part series (each only an hour) looks at the industry from its very beginnings, through the ground shifting that occurred via the 1960s film auteurs.

The scope and depth of the documentary, narrated by the regal Christopher Plummer,  is impressive. There's rarely seen and never-before-seen footage, but more than that, it's packed with facts presented in an agile way.

What to Watch on Monday: James Bond joins "Chuck"

Moguls & Movie Stars: A History of Hollywood (8pm, Turner Classic Movies) - The first in a seven-part look at the Hollywood film industry starts with "Peepshow Pioneers," covering the years 1889-1907. Features interviews with film historians, including Leonard Maltin, and descendants of Hollywood moguls Louis B. Mayer, William Fox, Adolph Zucker, and the Warner brothers.

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - In the wake of his first fight with Sarah, Chuck embarks on a rogue mission ultimately colliding with his mother's spy handler, played by ex-James Bond Timothy Dalton (right). Dalton is on board for a multi-episode arc. Ana Gasteyer (SNL) also appears as an enigmatic Russian agent.

The Women of SNL (9pm, NBC) - A skit show featuring clips of memorable performances by the female members of SNL's cast. Featured: Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Amy Poehler, Rachel Dretch, Nora Dunn, Laraine Newman, Kristin Wiig, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, and Ana Gasteyer.

Gossip Girl (9pm, CW) - Blair is ill-prepared for an unexpected party guest on her birthday. Meanwhile, Serena and Nate try to put an end to Chuck and Blair's endless games. Singer Robyn performs.

Castle (10pm, ABC) - A male stripper dressed as a cop is found murdered after Beckett and Castle respond to an officer down call, and the probe focuses on the victim's life as a struggling actor.

Movie marathon marks Elvis' 75th birthday

Tomorrow, January 8, would have been Elvis Presley's 75th birthday. In honor of that momentous anniversary, Turner Classic Movies is devoting the day to some of The King's more memorable movies and specials.

Programming begins at 6:15am with "Harum Scarum" (1965) and concludes with a midnight showing of "Jailhouse Rock" (1957).

Oddly enough, the movie most consider Elvis' best, "King Creole" (1958), is missing from the lineup, but there's still plenty of fun stuff on tap.

Here's a full list of the movies and specials being show tomorrow:

What to Watch on Saturday: Adam's Rib and the high price of love

Adam's Rib (10pm, TCM) - The 1949 classic about a husband-and-wife team of lawyers (Spencer Tracy & Katharine Hepburn) who take opposite sides in the case of a woman (Judy Holliday) who tried to kill her husband.

Lockup: Colorado Extended Stay (10pm, MSNBC) -  A new episode of this popular MSNBC series looks at "love in prison and its consequences." That could be interpreted a couple of different ways...

Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - Canadian indie-rock band Arcade Fire plays from their second cd, "Neon Bible." It's a repeat, but it's still Arcade Fire.

Want a Turner Classic Movies bobblehead doll?

PopCultureGuy (in conjunction with Warner Brothers) is celebrating Turner Classic Movies seventh annual Summer Under the Stars series by giving away a bobblehead of the network's popular host, Robert Osborne.

He's the guy who introduces the films and gives you all the juicy backstory.

If you're interested, go to PopCultureGuy's website and answer the trivia questions, but you must hurry - there's only one bobbling Osborne left.

A peek into the mind of Chuck Jones

Chuck Jones: Memories of a Childhood
8pm, Turner Classic Movies

I have always preferred Looney Tunes to Disney. Give me the smart-alecky Bugs Bunny over that sugary little mouse any day of the week.

If we're on the same page here, you'll love tonight's half-hour film on TCM which explores the childhood influences of Chuck Jones -- one of the geniuses behind many of those twisted Looney Tunes creations.
