Two coupon inserts coming in this Sunday's N&O

It's a holiday weekend coming up, which typically means coupons are on holiday. But not this time around.

We'll have two coupon inserts -- the Sept. P&G and a single-sheet Target coupon insert -- in this Sunday's home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer.

I'll have the coupon database updated and the very best of the drugstore and Kroger deals posted early Sunday morning. That way, you'll have the most complete and up-to-date coupon information for the Triangle at your finger tips.

I'll also have a list of school supply bargains. There's one penny deal coming up along with plenty of quarter and 50-cent deals, but the school-related bargains at the office supply stores are definitely winding down. Next up will be the school supply clearance sales at Target and Walmart. And then it will be on to Halloween sales.

Please note: Single-copy and State Edition papers may not contain all coupon inserts.

Database updated with Sunday's new coupons

The News & Observer's  coupon database has been updated.

This Sunday's home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer contains two inserts -- one Smart Source and one Red Plum -- for a total of 114 coupons with a face value of about $118.

Not familiar with the coupon database? You can access it on the right-hand side of the blog. There's a button at the bottom right to view it as a full-size page.

UPDATE: Though the space for the database remains on the right side of this page, we seem to be having problems with the actual database appearing in some browsers, including Safari. It does, however, appear in Firefox, if you use that browser.

If you don't use Firefox, you can still access the database by locating the white space on the right side of the page underneath the recent photo galleries. Under that white space is a link that says "view full page." (It's next to another that says "how to read this.") We think the problem is temporary, and related to how Google and our blog pages interact with each other.

Or, you can download it as an Excel spreadsheet by clicking on the attachment at the bottom of this post.

It's a handy tool, giving you the most timely and detailed list of coupons in the Triangle.

Database updated with Sunday's new coupons

The News & Observer's  coupon database has been updated with all of the new coupons -- and there were a bunch.

This Sunday's home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer contains four inserts -- one Smart Source, one Red Plum, a P&G and a special Target insert. There are also four coupons to clip in the Parade magazine.

All together, there are 200 coupons worth more than $265 in face value.

That's before you double the first coupon, of course, which we have the opportunity to do every day of the week at Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods -- not to mention Super Doubles at Harris Teeter, which is ongoing this week.

Look for my separate post, by the way, matching up Sunday's new coupons with Harris Teeter prices for new Super Doubles deals good through Tuesday night.
